You cannot beat the location of this house! Gorgeous view, right on the water!!

The location and view from the Crow’s Nest are absolutely AMAZING! We certainly enjoyed our week stay and can make the most out of any situation. My wife and I and 3 children (11, 7, 5) had a fantastic time.
HOWEVER, this property needs A LOT of TLC - rustic is an understatement. We arrived at 5pm to a home that was 45 degrees, thankfully the furnace worked and 3 hours later it was suitable. Truthfully, I’m not sure how this property passes code much longer without some work.
1.) The entire house sways, the floors are rotting in spots, and the structural beams are suspect at best.
2.)There were ants all over inside the house, the kitchen and bathroom were the worst, we had to put everything that would fit into the refrigerator. I bought ant traps and got them under control after a few days.
3.) the overall cleanliness was not good. There was actually bird poop on the ledge in the kitchen and up above the window. We found lots of lids, toys, and trash under and around furniture in every room.
4.) the guest bathroom toilet has a seal leak so it runs all day and night basically
5.) the oven works, but 2 of the burners on the stove top are broken and don’t work. Cookware is bare minimum at best - don’t plan on any home cooked meals
6.) I have never booked a house, that literally sits on the beach, that had FEWER beach accommodations. There were 2 old rusty beach chairs with broken straps…that’s literally ALL there was. The outdoor “shower” doesn’t work for washing your feet/sandals, there were ZERO sand toys, balls, etc. We bought a couple of volleyballs, frisbee, and sand toys for the kids while we were there and left them all for the next group to enjoy.
7.) the washer and drier are available, but one look at the rust inside the washer and we decided against doing any laundry.
I hate to be too harsh on the property, we really did have a fantastic time, but it was solely because of the location and view. This property could be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with some investment.
We have a LOT of other beach properties our family has stayed in over the years, this one is at the absolute bottom of the list without question.

This was the perfect beach house. Great views and close to water. Very clean!! Only negative is the washer/dryer need updated (takes many hours for clothes to dry) and the path to beach could be landscaped. Other than that, this place is amazing and we will most definitely be back.

The owners confirmed that the washer and dryer was fixed but it wasnt the washer had chips of rust in it and the dryer took 3-4 cycles with a small load to dry. There was a huge hole in the screen to the screen porch. There were chunks of paint siding that was rusted all under the house. The table and chairs to the small deck off one of the guest rooms were completely rusted and could not use. The microwave was old. The kitchen did not come with enough cooking supplies. We loved the location it was so amazing and the view! I like the cabin feel of the house. It would be nice to have a modern cable and netflix. Also only one bedroom had a t.v. The master didnt have one. Hearing the ocean waves at night was amazing. Closest we have ever had a beach house to the ocean just steps. There was no umbrella or beach chairs to use so we had to rent them. The property owners were not aware of all this and they are extremely amazing! Best property we have gone through. They came immediately to assess all the issues and will take care of it. This review has nothing to do with the island vacation properties. If the owner fixed these issues this would be the best house we have stayed.

You also can not use a blow dryer or other appliances if the tv is on. There are a few metal beams that truly support the house that are in question and not exactly safe. We had planned on being able to do laundry so didn’t pack much. We contacted the property manager & they sent an electrician out. He let us know there wasn’t enough power coming in to house to run washer & dryer and that we would be contacted to fix. Unfortunately we never heard from anyone. Luckily there were plenty of towels in the house. I loved renting from this company but I would probably rent a different house on our next trip.

We had a wonderful two-week stay. The Crow's Nest has always been a favorite. It is a great location on Bradenton Beach and within walking distance of shops. The old house is perfect for sunsets and enjoying the shore. I think she is ready for a new stove and toaster, but everything else is just well and fine.

We had a great time at the crows nest. The location, view, and beach are unbelievable. The cottage itself is outdated, but that is what makes it fun to stay at. We callled it very beach bummy. I would recommend staying here if you have kids. Below the house is a fenced in area filled with beach sand that the kids can play and have fun. The only complaint I had was the amount of old beach stuff that had been left over from previous guest. There were rusted old chairs and umbrellas that were cluttered around. Other than that, would definitely reccomend this place if you are on a budget and have kids.

I'll start with the good. First the property managers were OUTSTANDING. We had great communication and they went above and beyond to make our booking and stay great.
The location couldn't really get any better, but this house doesn't offer a true, open view. It does have a screened in porch area, which is just "ok". It could be so much more if it was open! We found the home to be very clean with plenty of linens. Looked to have newer couches, which was really nice.... But that's kinda where the amenities end. Only one bedroom has a very small dresser and the other two only have closets but they are so packed full and such a mess of items that unpacking your suitcase is nearly impossible. We found this to be a huge downfall as a family of 5. The other big negative for our family was there in no grill on the property. First beach house we have ever stayed in that didn't have one. This house is super SUPER TINY, but could be absolutely adorable with some good TLC, time, and just a little money put into it. Overall, we still had a great vacation, but this house won't be on our families return list.

The three bedrooms were just what we needed to accommodate us, and the kitchen had the appliances we needed to cook for the week. The staff was friendly and helpful and even let us check in early, going out of their way to give us a ride to our house from the office!
One suggestion would be to have some more kitchen chairs, as this sleeps eight but doesn’t have seating for 8. Maybe a bench for the kitchen and some folding chairs stored on the porch?

The Crow's Nest is a great on the beach experience with old rustic Florida charm. The place was clean upon arrival. The view-fabulous. The bed's slept great. Everything you need is provided and made for a great week and plenty of room for all of us. Good news-a new washer and dryer arrived while we were there. The old ones worked great, but after 3 years on the open screen porch, they were rusted from the salt air. There is a foot, body shower at the foot of the stairs. You do have to climb steep stairs. There are also stairs attached to the back bedroom that have a landing with a small table and 2 chairs that you can enjoy an evening on under the house. The grocery store is just down the road as well as many eating places around the area. You can catch a free trolley that can get you to some places. The only problem encountered was the big electric burner conked out while we were there and we had to use 3 small burners to cook. I reported the problem and they said it would be replaced when someone could get to it. A small problem with internet connection, but nothing major. Overall, a great experience. I would definitely stay there again in the future. Great family place. Thankful for the memories made there and we hated to leave to go back to the real world. HA!
