What a great time. There were four of us - a couple and two single friends. Plenty of room to stretch out. We had coffee every morning in the living room - and wine and cheese every night before we started our evening events (we were in town for a wedding). What a great value for 4 for 2 nights. Michelle was also very flexible in our check in and check out. Of note - our stay was during the crazy high tides that had to be extremely stressful for our host - and yet she was very responsive and easy to communicate with. If I were in her place - I would have been a basket case.

We had a lovely Christmas staying in this beautiful home!! We walked into downtown to do last minute shopping on Christmas Eve and enjoyed seeing all the holiday decorations! The house was immaculate, warm, cozy and easy to have our dogs with us! We had family come over and the kitchen had everything I needed to prepare meals and bake desserts, there was plenty of parking! Perfect house in a perfect area! We hope to get back next year!

Great house. Very clean and the proximity to downtown Portsmouth is fantastic.

We enjoyed an anniversary weekend at this lovely property. Nice, quiet location just blocks from a bustling Portsmouth and a short drive to local beaches for long dog walks. The house itself is light filled and has a wonderful, well equipped kitchen. The second floor bedroom and bathroom were perfect for us. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and appreciated our responsive host. We hope to return to spend more time at the beaches and exploring all that Portsmouth shops and restaurants have to offer.

We enjoyed our stay so much & so did our dog who was able to join us with pet friendly accommodations.

We loved this location! Very easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants; don’t miss Cure or Surf! 5-10 minute drive to grocery stores or Kittery stores/restaurants (Roberts is a favorite). We were there for a week over Thanksgiving and did a fair amount of cooking. The updated & very functional kitchen was much appreciated! It was also well equipped, but could use a new frying pan and a wooden spoon or two ;-) King master on second floor was very comfortable. Plenty of closet options & large updated bathroom with walk-in shower & soaker tub. This beautiful old home is well cared for & was extremely clean. It is cozy with lots of big windows and natural light. Unfortunately with age comes a slightly uneven kitchen floor and narrow, steep stairs going up to second and third floors. We didn’t use the two bedrooms on third floor so really not an issue for us but could be for others. It was very convenient having 2 full baths, there’s also a nice 1/2 bath on third floor. Bedding and linens were all nice and plentiful. WIFI was fast throughout the house. We had 3 people “working from home” with no issues. We didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor space, but there was a nice patio and a couple deck sitting areas with water views. Plenty of parking. Keyless front door made coming & going as well as check in very simple. We also loved having the back yard entrance for taking the dogs in and out. The owners were nice & very easy to communicate with. Detailed instructions and labels helpful.

Family celebration with exploration of all cool places Portsmouth has to offer. House is perfectly located for walkability but home is so beautiful it is hard to leave.

7 -8 college friends go away for the first weekend of November every year and we had a great stay at Michelle’s home. Her home was a pleasant surprise and within 10 minutes walking distance to downtown. We never drove once.
Her beautiful home seems redone but has retained a lot of character. We sat around the kitchen table and talked for hours while gazing outside at the water and bridge. Really cool! Seemed very new on first 2 floors. 3rd floor twin beds and futon seemed a bit older with rugs. Probably could use a mattress change on those beds soon. The futon is in its own area and is private. Ceilings are low up there and a bit claustrophobic but not a game changer by any means. Michelle has certainly utilized the space well and there is a bathroom up there as well. There is room for 3 cars which was great!
Great restaurants in Portsmouth. Hope to be back at some point. We usually have 8 so probably can’t stay there again as sleeps 7. Perfect for this year!!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The house was perfectly clean and as-advertised, owner provided all the information we needed for a seamless check-in/check-out. It is a very unique and interesting space, short walk to downtown/Market Square. Thank you!

Nothing is better than Fall in New England and Michelle’s property highlighted all those beautiful colors from a warm and comfortable antique home. The modern touches made for a relaxing home base to entertain family and friends. It’s exactly what I had hoped for and more. Thanks for sharing your home with the Thomas family.

We had a family wedding at the Envio which was quite literally a few minute walk from the house. Very convenient! Downtown was a little drive but very easy to get to, as well as to the outlets in Maine. It was nice having a king size bed on the first floor, especially if someone is older or physically challenged and doesn't want to navigate the steepish narrow stairs to go up the second and third floors. Maybe for little ones as well.
We would spend another weekend there for sure.

We were in town for a short weekend visit. The house was clean and comfortable and a close walk to downtown. So relaxing and easy to check in and out. The water views were amazing. We would definitely return here and rent the house again. Love the historic charm.

Nice old home, comfy beds, well stocked. We only used the 2 bedrooms on the first and second floors— very roomy. Kitchen and house are well equipped. Nice patio areas and gardens. Easy walk into Portsmouth to lots of restaurants and shopping. Don’t miss Elephantine bakery for delicious foods, bread and pastries!

A very lovely old house well renovated in a great quiet spot with the centre of Portsmouth just a 10 min walk away. We were with three of our sons and partners for the wedding of our eldest son to a Portsmouth girl. It was the perfect place for our stay. Comfortable, well equipped, efficient AC (it was super hot weather). Michelle was kindness itself sorting out a minor misunderstanding. Highly recommended.

Michelle was awesome and always answered so quickly. The house was absolutely beautiful and we had the best time! It’s in the most perfect spot close enough to walk into down town. Everything was so clean could not have asked for a better place to stay

We had a wonderful visit In Portsmouth for a sisters weekend…. The house worked out great for the 4 of us. The location of the house is great… we walked back & forth to the center multiple times per day… the beds were very comfortable… Be forewarned that to get to the 3rd floor bedrooms has steep stairs…

This house is located in an amazing location. The house is old, but has been kept up to date. We enjoyed family time in the house and downtown. The host was polite and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our annual gathering— we are a group of 4 women who met in high school in the 70s and continue our friendship to this day. We always look for a property with plenty of room, a decent kitchen, and a location near to good restaurants and activities.
This house fit the bill. It was exceptionally clean and neat, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. The neighborhood was very quiet. The deep tub in the master bathroom was wonderful!
Points to consider: The refrigerator is a bit narrower than a standard size, so it might be a challenge for a family bringing all of its own food.
It was a warm and humid weekend and one of the bedrooms did not have an air conditioner, but we made do with the fan that was supplied.
All in all, a lovely place to relax and enjoy all that Portsmouth and nearby Kittery has to offer.
Thank you, Michelle!

Michelle was a wonderful hostess. Her house had an amazing view of the water and is walking distance to all the great spots in Portsmouth. The historic home is full of charm with plenty of room for the four (there was room for more even) of us to spread out. Our 11 year old Labrador loved the nearby park and swimming in the water just outside the house.
We were in close proximity to all the beach’s in the area. The home has had some recent updates that give it a modern feel but keeps that historic charm. Beds were comfortable and the house was very well stocked with all the necessities. There was no access to a washer and dryer, but we really didn’t need them on a 3 night stay. Overall we were very happy with our stay and will look for this property when we stay in the area again.

Air conditioning was great, the king size beds were SO COMFY!! Pictures don’t do justice!! Plus it’s literally right by the water! And beautiful backyard patio!!

We love how the host decorated the old and charming house. It’s very conveniently located, beautiful and clean. Even though there is a lot to do around, my whole family, including little kids, have thoroughly enjoyed time spent
at the house during our vacation. We’d love to come back!

Excellent house but if you have trouble with stairs it may not be right for you. Lovely setting and location. Wonderful host.

Lovely old house. Could definitely use some updates: flooring is very old & uneven in places, soft spots in the floor in a few rooms, & the back door is almost impossible to open. Which is too bad because there's a nice patio that we barely went out on. The bedrooms could use better blinds bc they're paper thin and it gets bright very early.
Otherwise, the location is incredible and the house has many updates that you see in the listing. It wouldn't cost much to fix the back door & the blinds, but fixing the floors would be a costly project.

Lovely spacious updated home that was immaculate and provided us a very enjoyable stay. So close to downtown Portsmouth, we walked every time including our 3year old grandson. Restaurants, ice cream shops, boat rides, boutiques and a charming New England town. Make sure to walk across the bridge to Maine, so picturesque. Can’t wait to go back, and this is where we’d stay again.

We rented this home for a weekend bachelorette party and it was perfect! The house was clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. It was a short walk to downtown. Check out process was easy! We are already planning another girls trip for next year!

Beautiful setting, easy walking to downtown.
Only negative was the difficult access to 3rd floor. Only one of the 5 of us was able to climb the narrow stairs to the top bedroom. Only one AC unit in the room with a futon. Double bedroom could not be used, too hot and difficult to get to. Since there were only 2 other bedrooms we had to double up. Overall the house worked for us, when we were there we spent most of our time in the kitchen for breakfast and late night chats and games.

This house was perfect for our stay in Portsmouth. We came into town for a family wedding. It was in a great location and very close to downtown. The house was very clean and stocked with all the basic necessities until we were able to get to the store. It was an out of the ordinary warm weekend and the third level became very warm. But, by the time it was time for bed it had cooled down enough to sleep. The only thing I would suggest would be a fan for the third level. The rest of the house stayed very comfortable. We would definitely stay again!!

We loved this place. Beds were very comfortable. Lovely views. Kitchen was the place we hung out. Played cards and then we had a dance party. Neighbors were super nice. They made everything so easy.

Property was accurately described in listing. The location was great, just a short walk to downtown Portsmouth. Appreciated that the property was dog friendly. There was a small grassy “park” a short distance down the street. The only issue we had was the third floor bedroom was quite hot. It would have been nice to have had a fan available, since the AC hadn’t been installed yet. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Very clean. Great location to town and grocery shopping. Home is well-stocked with supplies. We were 4 women in their 70s. Stairs to 3rd floor were a challenge but WE MADE IT! The town of jPortsmouth is a dream town from eating to shopping and we always felt safe. Dog friendly too which we loved.

We had a lovely stay but did have a few concerns. A few of the floor boards and stair treads to the third floor were a bit squishy. The door to the small side deck was not locked and we couldn't lock it. The house was well equipped but it got quite chilly in the evening and the dining area stove was turned off. The upstairs shower water was only warm which was okay but I would have liked it warmer. I couldn't take a bath because the stopper wouldn't fully close and I ran out of hot water. However, in general, the house was just what we were looking for and we had a wonderful time.

House was big enough to accommodate half of our wedding party. It was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped.

The house fit our needs perfectly. It was so nice to be close to downtown for activities, but have the space in the house to hangout.
