Had a reunion with some college friends at the house. It’s just been renovated and the inside is fantastic. Great communication with the owner. Spectacular Lakeside setting. Cannot recommend highly enough

It was a little more out of the way then I thought, but had all the comforts of home, including great wifi. Beautiful house with an incredible view of the lake with a fantastic double patio next to the deck. Wished it had a regular coffee maker or keurig, enjoyed the espresso machine but couldn’t find pods anywhere at the stores. We were down for a graduation, wished we could’ve spent more time at this beautiful house.

The home is comfy cozy and warm. The lake front property and views are incredible And the fall foliage was lovely. Gorgeous fireplace. Charles was very helpful responding to my inquiries. We took his restaurant recommendations And enjoyed several of them. Town Pizza delivered and that worked great. The steps counted as exercise. I would recommend Charles’ Whaley lake Home as a lovely vacation escape. I spent hours in the swing relaxing and reading. You can see the lake from the corner of the living room couch. That was great too. Loved the picnic table in the sunroom. Bed was comfy. Pictures do not totally due the home justice. Plus some new furnishings too. You will enjoy your stay and want to come back. Our dog enjoyed looking out sunroom windows too!

The family and I stayed at Charles’ lake cabin for five days and had a terrific time. The location is great as far as access to all the Hudson Valley a tractions and even the city. Charles was very responsive to our needs. Thanks for a wonderful and memorable fall foliage family getaway!!!

The property was beautiful and a great break away from the city. Very secluded while being accessible to get there.

A lovely place to ride out the remnants of two hurricanes...very snug and well equiped with games. Kids enjoyed the wildlife and swim toys on the sunny days, and we enjoyed watching the moon rise over the shimmering lake. Our host was very responsive and helpful. A lovely stay.

We had a lot of fun at the lake house. A lot of swimming, kayaking, and bonfires. The house is really comfortable. Will definitely come back.

Beautiful setting on lake. 2 Kayaks were great, lake is nice and smooth so paddling was fun and relaxing. Parking is at the top and the house is below so there are stone steps leading to house and lake. Charles was helpful when we had questions and the whole process was very easy and simple. Definitely would stay here again!

We had a lot of fun at the lake house. A lot of swimming, kayaking, and bonfires. The house is really comfortable. Will definitely come back.

We enjoyed our stay at Whaley Lake. The property was clean and comfortable for our family of six. The outdoor areas over looking the lake were awesome for morning coffee and evening beverages. The AC kept the inside at a nice temp for relief from the heat since it was 90+ two of the days of our visit. We plan on visiting again next year.

You feel welcome from the moment you take in the view of the lake from above. Only a few steps down, the house is touching the water. We woke up every morning to beauty around us. Our host was available when needed and the property has everything you need to have some time to unwind and connect with nature. Wonderfull week end Thank you!

The property's location can't be beat and the lake views were outstanding and we could not get enough of it. The host was also super responsive and able to help very quickly with any questions we had. We enjoyed taking the Kayaks available on the property out on Whaley Lake and this property's proximity to multiple state parks made it a great hub! Definitely recommend booking this property.

At first thought we were booking on Candlewood Lake. This property is actually on Whaley Lake. Comfortable, charming rustic home, clean and well stocked. Views are spectacular. We Had mixed weather so the large Glass patio room overlooking the lake came in very handy. There is a cozy stone fire pit at the waters edge which made for relaxing and fun evenings. House is even stocked with comfy blankets that came in handy while having early morning coffee or a late night drink by the lake. Gas grill, small but efficient kitchen, plenty of games and two kayaks kept everyone busy. The host was always available and answered all our questions. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and picturesque stay! We will definitely be returning.

The house itself is very cozy, comfortable, and while not large, it easily accommodated 5 adults and the baby (and even short-term visitors). The sun room is beautiful, with a great view of the lake, and warms up quickly in the mornings so we were able to use that space all day (especially on sunny days). The kitchen is small but functional (and really the same size as our NYC kitchen), and there are two eating areas, as well as a lovely outdoor terrace with a table too. The living room has a great fireplace and very comfy couches. The setting is tranquil, right on a quiet and lovely lake -- I even saw an eagle (apparently they are nesting on an island in the lake). We stayed for 6 days and didn't want to leave. It was very relaxing, surrounded by trees, and quiet. The outside stairs down to the house may be a little tricky for folks with walking issues, but my 86-year old Dad negotiated them fine. Charles himself was a very communicative, open and helpful host-- easy to reach, generous with his time and happy to tell us tips about the area and answer questions. He was also extremely accommodating when we had to adjust our checkout time a bit. Staying here was a great experience and we would love to return!

Even though the weather didn't cooperate we had a great time! The location is incredible and the house has everything you need to enjoy yourself. The house has a rustic log cabin feel with exposed beams and a 2-story stone fireplace.

We had such a wonderful stay and loved the house and lake. Everything was clean and exactly as described. Charles was helpful, professional, and accommodating. We can’t wait to return to this very special and beautiful lake.

I can not say enough about how wonderful our weekend was. Charles is an absolute delight,so kind and went above and beyond for me! He always answered my calls and answered any silly questions I may have had, including the name of a good local pizzeria! The stairs were a bit challenging for me but well worth it! The personal touches from baskets with clean towels and tolietries to the folded toliet tissue were very much noticed and appreciated. The property is beautiful and so peaceful. The house was missing nothing! There are paper towels, garbage bags etc. I look forward to staying there again!

We were looking to escape NYC and recharge our batteries. My husband, sister-in-law and I found the cabin and its setting to be ideal. (Yes there are steep stairs - we considered them our workout!) Although we got lucky with “summertime” weather, we enjoyed the solitude of early November on the lake. When I went kayaking, I encountered more birds and fish than people. Heavenly! The decks - yes, there are two!- and outdoor furniture are comfortable and ridiculously scenic. The cabin is a wonderful combination of rustic and contemporary. It is decorated with delightful whimsy. My favorite is the pair of vintage cross country skis (boots attached) hanging near the fireplace! The TVs, and air conditioning are high tech. The kitchen is well stocked. (We cooked in every night!) Plus, the toiletries, towels and water pressure rival any hotel. The owner, Charles, was remarkably accessible, helpful - and charming! Thanks for the perfect retreat. We plan on returning!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the house. It's exactly as it appears in the listing, but the photos can't convey the calm and joy of waking up everyday to the light coming up over the lake. It's luminescent. We particularly enjoyed the kayaks. There are also very nice hikes near by and Charles is easy going and very nice. Strongly recommend.

We spent a total of 9 days at two different times in July at Whaley Lake and loved every minute of it1 From the effortless check in to the fresh hydrangea scattered around the house ,our time there was wonderful .Charles was an amazing host, always a text away if I had a question offering suggestions for restaurants etc. Most days were spent on the lake swimming, kayaking and tubing (which we left 4 of them for the next visit) Our evenings were spent grilling and having every dinner outdoors ,watching the lake in all its splendor at dusk ,followed by a fire in the lakeside fire pit and watching the stars come out . We went out to dinner only twice during our visit because it really was too pretty and relaxing to leave. It was quite warm the week we were there and the house is well air conditioned and bedrooms quite cool for sleeping at night. Thank you Charles for a great peaceful and safe, relaxing few days and we look forward to getting back to Whaley Lake very soon

This home is a bit rustic in a charming kind of way and the outdoor space is top notch. The photos don't do the home justice--especially because it seems like some of the furniture and bedding has been updated since the photos were taken. It was a pleasant surprise. The AC worked really well and the queen bed downstairs where we slept was very comfortable. The kitchen is a bit small and there were a few hiccups during our stay but the location and beauty of the lake and the quick response to all of our questions made up for any minor issues. The boat garage which held the kayaks was awesome, as was the fire pit, and we enjoyed boating almost every day. We saw a ton of great birds while we were there which added to our special stay. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to relax, be active (went on a nice hike in the area in addition to the kayaking!), and enjoy the beauty of nature. Would give 8.5 or 9 out of ten, and would 100% return again!

My husband and I spent 3 weeks at the house, with our two young daughters. This cabin is perfectly secluded and just a few steps off a beautiful lake. The house is a bit rustic and antique, but extremely cozy and charming. There is a lovely deck where you can relax, and the view is just spectacular. This place is much better than what the photos show. The house has everything you need for a lovely stay, you won't want to leave for any reason. We highly recommend it and look forward to another visit.

Absolutely beautiful location and a picture perfect lake. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer cabin, and the owner was very friendly and thorough. Cant wait to find more time to spend up here this summer.

The house is even nicer than the pictures show. Stunning lake views, good fishing for bass and bluegills, nice Weber (propane) grill and everything we needed for a quick getaway. Only negative is the many steps leading from the roadway where we parked, but it's a necessary evil -- and well worth the trek -- to reach the house that's truly waterfront. We would return:-)
