This was a great house for all ages of our family!

Lovely and quiet place with amazing views. The porch was great for relaxation, watching the birds and the water/lake. We had fun roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Wi-Fi was not an issue. Great communication with the property manager/owner.

Traveled with Kids and grand kids. All had a great time. Large backyard with dock. Our boat fit fine. Rental company would not let us keep their boat overnight at dock. Property Management was responsive to issues.

great lake home. view of lake was great good size for a big family Fireplace was wonderful Over clean and well stocked, Outside deck does need some work. It needs a good pressure washing and the spider webs need to be taken care of Overall would stay there again

Big house, lots of room to hang out. First impression, 3 bags of dog poop right in front of the garage door that had clearly been there a while. Not so nice neighbors… within 10 minutes of having our boat delivered to the said dock(which is half falling apart and the rental guy said it’s the worst one on the lake) the neighbors complained that it was in their way?? It was on the end of the dock? We were “watched” all week… didnt care! House def needs some TLC and cleaning up. Only half of the grill worked so that was challenging cooking on it. We washed all pots and pans and plates before using… Loved the fire pit and rocking chairs area. Great for s’mores! Need more bath towels and lake towels. Great location , nice restaurants around. Would I stay here again ? Yes and hope they clean it up a lot!

I had read previous reviews, which were not favorable. Unfortunately I ignored them.
We experienced several of the same situations as other renters. The floors hadn't seen a broom, vacuum or mop in a long long time! The bath towels are badly stained, obviously bleach has never been considered there. The amount of dead bugs and crumbs and spilt liquids all over the place was bizarre considering the cleaning people had supposedly just been there.
The porches were covered with weeks, months, of heavy debris and we spent several hours using brooms and blowers making it possible to use and enjoy.
We even found balloons covered in confetti rolling around and under furniture.
The refrigerator was not clean so we needed to remove shelves and wash everything before we could load our groceries. We placed all dishes, utensils and glasses that we would be using immediately in the dishwasher for a cleaning cycle because they too were filthy, in the cabinets! Pots and pans were hand washed and set aside for future use during our stay.
The general filth that had to be cleaned from our first steps on the porch and then throughout the house was both unexpected and time consuming! Cleaning fees are added and included with the rental fees. I resent paying for a service that was not provided. Not to mention all the supposed Covid protocols the rental company claims to adhere to in the booklet!
Be warned!! We have been in contact with Greg at Majestic Mountain Getaways, with assurance of partial refund, yet NO refund has been received!
I would never, ever recommend Living the Dream rental to anyone!
In fact we will never use Majestic Mountain Getaway for any future rentals. There's just no excuse for such conditions to be acceptable to any business.
Phone calls to the rental company have been met with excuses but NO actions

First let me say that this is a great house. I am aware that the owners have been putting money into the house. We could tell that new carpet had just been laid through most of the home. That being said, there are some major issues inside the house. Upon entering the home we were immediately met with the strong odor of mold. In the downstairs basement area where the bunkbeds are the smell was extremely strong. My oldest son was asking if we could leave for home before our time was up because he was so miserable from sneezing. The yard was great, especially if you bring a dog. Also, the dock was very nice and I actually caught a couple of fish from it. We rented a boat from Boundary Waters boat rental, and were able to attach it to the dock. We arrived at the house at 3 o'clock, our scheduled check in time, but the cleaning crew was still there. We pulled into the empty lot across the street from the house to wait for them to finish. We found approximately 20+ towels shoved into the dryer that were not dry. Also we took photographs of cobwebs throughout the house. We made great use of ping-pong and pool tables and over all, we had a nice time. Unfortunately the mold/mildew issues detracted a great deal from our stay. Until the mold issues are addressed, I would not recommend this home to a friend.

House was okay. Basement was not used because of moldy odor. Bed linen has not been changed in any rooms. One bedroom linen was covered in dog hair. Was discovered about midnight to late to call anyone.

We had a wonderful spring break with extended family. Backyard whiffle ball with a beautiful backdrop, hiking the trails, boating on lake Chatuge, games and family dinners. Memories were made and will be treasured.

We loved the house and the location. Also really enjoyed the fire pit. A little disappointed that the lake was so low. We wanted to fish but water was to low for that. The people of town were super friendly and stores were close by.

The house was very clean and had plenty of room for our big group. The kitchen was well stocked with all of the pots/pans/small appliances that we needed in order to keep our group fed and happy! The kids loved all of the gaming tables that the property offers. Thanks for a great stay!

We loved Living the Dream. It had lots of space, well equipped, and had everything you would want. Of course, things happen and the heating motor went out during very cold night. Once reported to Greg, it was taken care of right away. My only suggestion would be to leave instructions for TVs. The one in living room and master bedroom never worked. We enjoyed the tv in rec room downstairs. The outside fire pit was awesome and we spent a lot of time out there. We are already thinking of a return visit in warmer weather. Thanks for having us.

Great week on Lake Hiawassee
Great house, great backyard, great location! We enjoyed our week stay with our 2 girls and 2 dogs! House had everything we needed and the back deck and backyard are incredible for enjoying the lake. We spent many afternoons floating on tubes off the dock and rented a boat for 3 days to explore the lake and enjoy some tubing. Highly recommend this property.

This was our second time going to the living the dream home. And the second time was even better than the first. The location is amazing in Hiawassee close to town and grocery stores. Also extremely close to fun activities. Only 30 minutes from Helen and there is a great tubing Place only 15 minutes from the house in North Carolina. Greg the property manager also went above and beyond again. There was a small issue with our ladder at the pier but he was there right away to fix it so we could all go swimming. The water is crystal clear the kids were able to swim and fish all day. If you are considering staying here consider no more because this will be one of your best family vacations you will ever have.

Nice larger older model home. Needs some updating including the boat dock and a real good cleaning but all in all it's a beautiful property and a great vacation spot! Enjoy your stay!!

There were plusses and minuses to our stay. We loved the house. It sleeps a lot of people comfortably and the view is to die for. It is also very conveniently located very close to downtown Hiawassee. It is about 40 minutes from Unicoi National Park, maybe 30 to Brasstown Bald, etc. The house is a little quirky but fun. Some minuses were that the home was not properly cleaned for our arrival. There were dead bugs everywhere, pet food scattered on master bedroom floor, and cobwebs etc. It looked like people changed the sheets and cleaned super fast. Certainly unacceptable. We were refunded the cleaning fee because of it. There was also no propane for the fire pit table on the porch, so you can't use it for what it is. There is also a ton of road noise which is disturbing if you're sleeping in thr 2 front bedrooms. It isn't bad unless you want to open the windows. I wouldn't not rent the house though because of it. It also would've been nice to have a kayak and paddleboard available for use as a lot of other lake rentals in the area do. Most of these things are easily remedied though. A safety concern with this house is the railings on the decks are not safe for children. They have giant gaps that a child can easily fir through. Lastly, the management people were unreachable during our entire stay except for a thumbs up during our check in and out. We called and texted with concerns and were never contacted back until after checkout. They were very nice though once we finally spoke.
