Finding a house to accomodate a family of 20 is very difficult, but finding one that is perfect for the kids, adults AND someone in a wheelchair is almost impossible - until Once Upon a Tide! Honestly, this house deserves better than 5 stars. Liz and Laura are the absolute best! From our first communication to the last (even during our stay) they were prompt, friendly and accommodating! The house absolutely beautiful, with spectacular views, comfortable beds, spacious rooms and bathrooms, a well stocked kitchen, loads of fun activities ... I just cannot say enough good about it. You won't be disappointed! We will def return!

We held family reunion and was large enough for large group. Bedrooms are not sound proof so difficult to sleep with anyone awake in the house.

Perfect house in the perfect location. Pool is great! The host took amazing care of us. No issues at alm with the house, we even added pool heat same day. Caution for kids and seniors, the steps are steep throughout the property. Still the best house at Ocean Isle but watch small kids and older adults!

What a lovely spot to spend Easter weekend! There were 19 of us, including 8 kids and 11 adults. It was a family event with our local family and 4 cousins from Norway. Everyone had plenty of room. In fact, we had bedrooms to spare! The house is well-appointed and the pool and beach can't be beat. We hope to stay at this amazing home again some day!

We set our expectations high, but your home exceeded the bars and all our dreams! Being from Arizona, we relied on the the photos which are accurate, but don't compare to the amazing space and views this house provides. From the moment you enter the house, your breathe is taken away by the amazing view and beautiful decor. Your staff, Liz, Joanna and Kyle went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Liz was responsive through the whole process and provided home information and answered all our questions before arriving. Joanna and Kyle were on the spot to take care of the property during our stay.
This home is an event planners dream location for beach weddings and was designed with events in mind. Many of our event vendors said it was the best vacation event house on Ocean Isle Beach. The 12 private bedrooms with their own bathrooms and large kitchen and social areas accommodated our large group nicely. We stayed towards the end of October and it was like having our own private beach. Weather was perfect. Being off season many shops and restaurants in the area had limited hours, which was to be expected. Highly recommend this property for family reunions, holidays, weddings and events.

This house was perfect for our multi family getaway. The bedrooms are spread out so no one felt like they were on top of each other. The extra game room upstairs was fun for kids and adults. The pool and outdoor space with tiki bar was beautiful. Property management was helpful and responded quickly. I would recommend this house and hope to return with my group.

This house was perfect for our multi family getaway. The bedrooms are spread out so no one felt like they were on top of each other. The extra game room upstairs was fun for kids and adults. We help a group conference here for about 13 people. The property itself was very pretty, but the management is what killed it for us. They don't even include bath/hand towels in the (very expensive) price. You can choose to add on for an additional $10 PER TOWEL.
There were a lot of the small things missing - such as hand soap in any of the bathrooms, absolutely no extra toilet paper anywhere past what was on the roll, or even a hand towel in the bathroom to dry your hands. Yes, of course you can purchase these things for fairly inexpensive and bring your own - but the hassle that creates really made things inconvenient for us. In addition, you will not be able to check in a moment before 4pm - which isn't that big of a deal. But even when we knew it was vacant the night before, we still were told we couldn't arrive even 30 minutes early. So we ended up just purchasing the house for the previous day as well so we could get in on time.
Overall, GORGEOUS house with great furnishings - just need to improve the management aspect of it, especially with the rate you are paying for it. I mean I would've MUCH rather they just tack on $100 to the original price and include those little amenities and save the headache.

Magnificent house!
The house is more amazing than the pictures. Everything was spotless and beautiful! Lauren helped our group of friends plan an amazing golf trip. From transportation to private chef and groceries, she helped with it all and was extremely accommodating. We started asking her for help months before the trip and it was seamless! We cannot wait to book our next trip here!

The one or two inquiries I had were answered quickly and professionally. The house had everything our group needed and more. We had such an amazing experience we booked two return trips before this one had ended. We can’t wait to return!

Perfect all around
This house is unlike anywhere we have ever rented. Stunning decor. Spacious. So much room for activities. The amenities were beyond our expectations. We had our work retreat at this house and it was beyond perfect. Laurie was amazing and responded immediately if we had any questions. We will definitely be back!

Nothing short of amazing!
Once Upon A Tide is a dream vacation home! The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. We booked the house for a weekend getaway but we plan to come back for a longer stay. It is perfect for a group of families because of the open floorplan and numerous bedroom options. We have young children so the room with a King bed and bunks was perfect! The game room was so much fun for kids and adults. Beyond the house itself, the service we received from booking to check-out was great! The staff responded to our questions prior to arrival and checked in with us the morning after we got there to make sure we had everything we needed and that the house met our expectations. I would recommend a stay at Once Upon A Tide to anyone looking for a high-end vacation home experience at Ocean Isle Beach!

Wonderful week
The property is well kept, clean, and convenient. The part we enjoyed most was how easy it was to get to and from the beach with kids in tow. The walkway to the beach has a shower to rinse off all the sand prior to getting back to the house.
The pool is great as well.
Overall a great week. We would definitely recommend!

Unbelievable home
Wow! Spectacular property. Very clean. Owner and staff was amazing and helpful. Phenomenal open floor plan w a killer kitchen. My kitchen at home was my favorite until I came to Once Upon A Tide. I want Laura (the owner) to design my next house and definitely furnish it. We all spent countless hours in the pool, tiki bar, and upstairs game room. This is the best house on the NC/SC coast at least that I have seen and we have stayed in some of the best. Thank you for renting to us, Laura. We will be back!!

Ocean Tide retreat
Our Women's Ministry sued the house for a retreat, as each person entered the house loved it right way. the view of the Ocean was breath taking. Laura and Laura Ann have been amazing. They have truly been a pleasure to work with and they have been so accommodating with anything that we have needed help with!!The Property is amazing. To be able to have our closest friends and family all stay together and share this one house for our special occasion is more than we could ask for!! With private access to the beach, our own pool and even an elevator in the house, how could it get any better!!! We cannot wait to get married here next year and make it "once upon a tide" moment that will last forever

Best Beach House on the East coast
We gathered with 36 friends and family (Ohio, Michigan, NC, Arlington and Connecticut) for the best beach vacation of our lives July 2018...and this is our 27th year of doing this. We Booked this mansion on the beach before construction even started based upon seeing Laura’s other homes. It was the best decision we ever made regarding vacation! We loved everything about this gorgeous mansion on the beach. Here is a list of our favorite things about Once Upon A Tide.... and it’s hard to only pick a few.
1. Floor plan. The house is massive and gorgeous. Extremely large open floor plan with the best kitchen and appliances I’ve ever seen. Bedroom layout is perfection.
2. Outdoor area: big pool with swim ledge for the grandbabies and grass (turf-what an awesome idea) space to play corn hole and bocci next to the pool. The teenagers laid out of the open “beach deck” and the seniors sat there to watch kids on the beach. We had a karaoke dance party and cocktails by tiki bar almost every night.
3. Laura and her “people” are the BEST. So helpful and quick to answer whenever we needed anything.
4. Upstairs living room: foosball, shuffleboard, great table for playing cards, BIG Tv.... I cannot even tell you how thoughtful the design of this property is for big groups.
5. The bedrooms and Bathrooms...OMG-quite possibly the best mattress I have ever slept on and everyone’s bedroom had a gorgeous bathroom and I mean really gorgeous!
I just cannot say enough nice things about our entire vacation experience. Thank you luxury lodging by Laura! Our family will definitely return! Jen, Michael, Amy, Margaret, Tom, Bruce...the whole crew!!!

Perfection
Once Upon A Tide was the perfect vacation home for our family reunion. We loved the very spacious open first floor for game time and family gatherings. The kitchen provided ample of seating for all of us to dine together. There are plenty of bedrooms with comfortable mattresses. The kids especially loved the bunk rooms. It was clean upon arrival. Everyone was great to work with during the rental process. We loved hunting for the ghost crabs at night and searching for the sea turtle nests during the day. There were plenty of sand toys for sand castle building at the home. I highly recommend this home for all ages. We loved it!

Stunning Oceanfront Home!
I don't know where to begin! This beautiful home was PERFECT for our family reunion. We had 35 of us staying there and the house never felt crowded! The gourmet kitchen is huge with amazing beach views. There are 2 refrigerators (plus a 3rd one by the garage), 2 wine refrigerators (one in kitchen and one upstairs), 2 dishwashers, 2 coffee makers, and the kitchen is so well stocked. All of the bedrooms have private baths and the beds are so comfortable. The kids all loved the game tables, and the amazing pool.
Laura, the owner, is so wonderful to work with and has thought of every detail in this gorgeous home. We did not want to leave...and will definitely be back!
