The house was clean with plenty of space for our family of 8 (4 adults and 4 teenagers) and the pool was great! It’s only 2 miles from Weko beach, 25 minutes to St Joseph’s where we were able to rent a boat and go tubing for a day, and 25 minutes to Michigan City, IN with an outlet mall. The house does need some overall maintenance, upstairs only has window AC but it did keep the rooms cool except for the middle room was a little warm. The middle room is not shown on the listing and is small for 2 teenagers. Overall we had a lovely time.

The property is nice and the pool is good. The house has unusual electrical issues (extension cords running around the house). Electrical updates are needed. Outside of house, steps on deck, windows needsa painting. Neighborhood is very nice and convenient to lots of things.

After reading the reviews from 2 yrs ago, July 2021, we debated on renting this house. It said it was updated,so we figured all previous issues were addressed + fixed. They weren’t after 2 years! There is still electrical cords running everywhere upstairs, duct tape on the ac units, lights out, few working outlets, pool heater not working, (even tho Sandy said he’d turn it up, it never got warmer), mold in washer, and uneven floors. The trails are overgrown, making most of the property unusable. The stools at the counter were too tall, making them unusable. Other issues we had: there was no place to put groceries, clothes, or bathroom products, as those places were already full of stuff. The closet door in the play room wouldn’t latch, and stuff kept falling out. The 10 person firepit had bricks falling from it and only 2 seats with empty beer bottles. We had poor bathtub drainage upstairs and clogged toilet downstairs.
The downstairs layout is beautiful with the deck off the kitchen. That part was perfect for our family. Sandy was easy to work with and gave us permission to have more than 10, and we had a small tent set up outside for sleeping.
This house needs some desperate help!

Family vacation
The location of the property brought our family here. We enjoyed being near Lake Michigan. The added plus was having both the lake and the pool at the house to enjoy.
The farm house had a few challenges, such is the uneven floors and few outlets in the bedrooms. We really enjoyed the country setting. The pool definitely got used!

Family Vacation
We had an overall great time.

The acreage is wonderful, lots of places to play and spread out. The pool area and 1st floor living area are fabulous -- roomy and pleasant. Only cons are: the upstairs bedrooms are suitable, but lots of electrical cords and duct tape, i.e, the house could use some TLC. Also, we were disappointed that the beautiful pool's heater was not working properly. But again, it was still a pleasant stay.

We spent 8 nights at this tucked away farmhouse. The biggest pluses for this property are the pool area (although we didn’t get to enjoy it as much due to the weather) and the fact that all the bedrooms have a queen size bed (as so many rentals try to pack in more people and have a ton on bunks or twin beds). We loved the dining area and the huge kitchen island, which made meal time a breeze. Sandy came to service the pool twice during our stay and his neighbors, who own some of the local blueberry vineyards dropped off fresh picked blueberries, which Sandy graciously gave to us to enjoy.
The walking nature trails are overgrown and not really accessible. Sandy explained that due to concerns of ticks and mosquitos they have stopped maintaining them to discourage walking the trails.
The house is in a great location and easy to access the beach, other local towns, restaurants, vineyards and breweries.
The draw backs:
This is a secondary family house and could use a little better up keeping. Maintaining a property is a lot of work, especially when you add in other life, work and family responsibilities.
There is central air in the main part of the first floor, but that was supplemented with window units in the master bath and dining area, and all bedrooms upstairs had window or floor units. Many of these were reinforced with duct tape and also required unsightly and unsafe extension cords that were too long and the excess were then heaped in a pile, which is dangerous, especially with a 1 year older crawling around. I could get past that if it was just one instance of this, but it was an issue throughout the house.
There were a lot of things that are “just not right” or could use some maintenance but you would not be able to tell from photos. A few examples include the fact that in the kitchen/dining area 3 of 9 lightbulbs are either burned out or missing. The overhead light leading up the stairs and in one of the bedrooms also did not work. There was a cabinet drawer front missing in the kitchen. The back “mud room” that had the washer and dryer smelled like mildew. I agree with a previous reviewer from a few years back, the place could also use a good deep clean, especially the couches.
A new back deck was just installed and it looks fabulous and has a lovely table and chairs to enjoy a meal or just hang out on. However the job was not completed and the railings were installed but not secured/anchored. We learned this by

Good for a family getaway
Our group of active young and middle aged adults had a great time here. House is comfortable and pool is a great feature. Lots of great road cycling right outside the door. Beach is a 3 mile ride away. Fire pit /forested area was a nice place to relax at night.

We had a great week away, thanks! House has a lot of land and away from the crowds. The pool was fantastic to have!

Vacation time for 7 adults!
We especially enjoyed the large, comfortable living and kitchen areas. It easily accommodated all seven of us as we prepared dinners, played cards, and generally hung out. The pool was beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs. A dining table on the patio was perfect for our al fresca dinners! The master bedroom and bath was especially nice. Sandy couldn’t have been easier to work with.

A perfect vacation home
We loved our time at Sandy’s home. The pool and the backyard were the biggest hits with my family. Our 3 young boys loved the diving board and water slide, we were in the pool everyday. The backyard is a good size and the kids were able to play basketball and ride bikes while the adults played bags. We also loved the fire pit at night and counting stars. Inside the home it is bigger than the pictures show w a great updated kitchen and a huge island. Plenty of bedrooms to accommodate all of our guests as well. My little guy loved the toy room and had a blast with the building blocks.
The home is in a great location with Weko beach being just a few minutes away. We will definetly be back. Thanks for sharing your home with us Sandy!

Amazing family home
This home is absolutely adorable! Stayed here with a good size family and the home was spacious and definitely kid friendly! Sandy thought of everything to make our stay exceptional. The pool is a dream and the backyard is a kids paradise with the basketball goal, tons of grass to play on and a long driveway perfect for scootering or chalk. At night watch the fireflies light up the tree lined backdrop and enjoy a warm fire in the small fire pit behind the pool house. The location of the house is awesome as well. About 3 miles to Weko Beach, which is stunning, as well as some fun sand dunes and good small restaurants, wineries and breweries for the adults.
This place is a must if coming to Bridgman. We will definitely be back!!!

Good location and nice pool but........
Sandy was great to work with and the home location and pool were great. The house did have some flaws that we would expect from a family vacation home although. There was excessive amounts of poison ivy around the deck area that we had to block off so the kids didn’t get into. Also we were unable to find any wash cloths to take baths with or hot pads for the oven. Both of which we ended up purchasing for our stay. The furniture in the living room could also use a good cleaning as it has many visible soiled spots on it. With a few housekeeping items fixed this is a nice place.

Great family get away!
Wonderful time, plenty of space for our family trip with 7 adults and 3 children 5 years and younger. The pool was great for all to enjoy, and plenty of wineries and breweries foe everyone to make trips to. Other shopping was close by, and we found a great butcher in Bridgeman that I think we supported for the week, get meats, sausages, and cheeses. We've rented homes each year from Wisconsin and Michigan, we've all decided we'd love to make this our yearly go to. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us!! Debbie

Marvelous home
Front of house is deceiving. Interior is well appointed and worked well for our family of 5 adults and 3 children aged 5, 3, and 7 months. Very secluded, quiet spot - yet close to Lake Michigan, wineries and u pick farms. Lots of room in the back for the children to go exploring and the pool was delightful.

Perfect getaway for kids of all ages
I rented the farmhouse for myself, two married children, their spouses and five grandchildren. Though it wasn't on the beach, the state park and local beaches were close by and it was a short ride to st. Joe with it's children's museum and carousel. While the house was great, it was the pool with it's slide that made it well worth being somewhat off the beaten path. The owner, Sandy couldn't have been more accommodating. I would highly recommend it.

Great Vacation Spot!
Our extended family of 10 spent a week here and had a great time. Sandy, the owner, met my son and his wife who arrived first and gave them the grand tour. He also came back in the middle of the week to service the pool and check on how things were going. Really nice guy! The house is laid out well. The kitchen has everything you need. The deck, pool and slide were a huge hit with the kids (big and small), as well as the basketball court. The grill was clean and ready to go. There are huge gorgeous trees on the property that I would love to take home! Bridgeman (about a mile away) is a quiet little town, but the beaches are close by and there are plenty of things to do within a 20 minute drive from the property. Lots of farmers markets around. It was a hit for sure! Only drawback were the window air conditioners that made it hard to sleep some nights. All in all though, it's a great place to visit!

Our 3 families stayed here!
This was a great place for multiple families with kids! The pool made the experience and all the land for bike riding and hiking was amazing! The boys (dads) hung out at the fire pit and collected wood and the girls (moms) sat on the deck drinking wine from local wineries watching the kids swim! Sandy was super accommodating and made us feel like it was our home for the week! Not much to do right in Bridgman (other than the beach and an expensive fun center) but lots to do within a short 15-30 min. Drive! I would highly recommend this home for a vaca!
Only negative - no central air (all window units with duct tape) and the house felt damp. BUT..... The temp was cool inside.

Summer get-away
Great house for the summer! It was in a great location, close to downtown sawyer, the dunes, and good golf. The house handled our group of 10 very well. There were plenty of areas to hang out outside, and the pool was the perfect refresher.

Western Michigan Oasis
The home is on a nice country road, tucked away from all the tourist hustle and bustle. Very open design on the first floor of the house.
We stayed here on some days and had a good time just on the property - swimming, basketball, Frisbees. Other days we went kayaking, pontooning, and to Lake Michigan.
Everything is about 20 minutes from the house, Lake Michigan is about a mile and a half away, a nice bike ride.
The owners are very easy and pleasant to make arrangements with.

Wonderful Property and Owners
This was our first time at this property, and we are sure to return. The home offers both "rustic" farmhouse charm with beautiful, updated amenities. The house was very clean with a layout that easily lends itself for entertaining and gathering with family and friends. The house is very child and toddler friendly (we traveled with 5 under 5), and the yard and pool are a child's and adult's dream! The owner was wonderful to work with. Very helpful, pleasant, and hospitable.

Pure Michigan!
This home was a perfect getaway for our family. Just a hour or so from the city (Chicago). It was the dunes and vineyards that brought us to the area. The location is very convenient for both attractions . Decor has a modern rustic look. Very clean. Private and quiet. Loved the open floor plan kitchen/living room that opens to pool. Perfect for family gatherings with enough room to find privacy or a quiet moment. Lots of huge trees and nature to soak in. Looking forward to another stay here!
