My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tangerine Cactus Cottage. The cottage is wonderfully decorated in a SW style theme, fun artwork, history, cabinets, and even a beautiful large wooden carved door hiding the W/D, clean all around, spacious fully functioning kitchen, nice sized bedrooms each with walk-in-closets and separate bathrooms, perfect sized living and dining rooms, lovely front, back and side yards, with lots of chairs with cushions, cacti gardens, good parking, clean, soothing hot tub. An easy walking neighborhood, close to excellent restaurants, grocery stores and downtown Cave Creek. Great hiking trails throughout the area. Carol was super accommodating, easy to communicate with before, during and after our stay. We plan to visit again and will recommend this cottage to friends and family who may plan a trip to AZ.

Was perfect location to explore Cave Creek. Cottage was charming, unique, and met all our expectations.

The Tangerine Cactus was such a lovely place to call home away from home for my recent trip. First of all, communication with the property manager was easy, and all instructions were very clear. The neighborhood was quiet, and the patios are very private. Secondly, the pictures don't do justice to how beautiful the space is! It was clean and spacious but also so cozy. Cave Creek is an adorable town with plenty of restaurants, shopping and live music to keep you busy. It's also within driving distance of plenty of cities and other attractions to visit, but you may find you just don't want to leave the cottage! The cleanliness, decor, and comfort of home really was the icing on the cake for a lovely trip.

We loved the location. It is close to everything in Cave Creek and Carefree. It is very well maintained and very well equipped. We loved the funky nature of the decorations. It is roomy and could easily handle 4-6 people

Great location. Well equipped. Had everything we needed and more. Homey, plenty of outdoor space, private and comfortable. Carole provided plenty of opportunity for us to ask questions.....which we had none—-she had thought of everything!

The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Kitchen was well equipped and all the essentials were there. Carol was extremely responsive to questions and very accommodating to us. Would definitely stay there again.

This property truly enhanced our first experience of visiting Arizona. The feel was so authentic, with its' eclectic charm.....making you not even want to leave the place. We are beginner hikers, and we took a 5 mile hike through the desert at nearby Spur Cross Ranch (a combination of dragonfly, and spur cross trails)...and it was one of the most amazing experiences of our lives. We are from the East (KY)...so this was the most "different" terrain we had ever seen. Just gorgeous! The restaurants nearby were a wonderful selection. We particularly loved El Encanto (the chimichanga with a jalapeno/cream cheese sauce they have was the best Mexican we had ever eaten.) We also loved The Horny Toad, very western theme as was many restaurants in this town. The town of Cave Creek was so charming, and food was very good at other restaurants too...(although we were a little disappointed with the food at Buffalo Chip)… When we first arrived at the cottage..my husband thanked me several times for finding this place...we always try to "out-do" ourselves on finding the best VRBO's everywhere we go...and this was one of ...if not THE favorite we have ever stayed in. It was an experience we won't forget. We went for romance, and this place was a wonderful place to focus on each other, but would be great for a family of 4-5 also. Some of the things I loved at this place: charm/décor, safe feeling area, great little town, beautiful fireplaces inside and out, hot tub (although we didn't use it because it rained a lot while we were there (unusual), great kitchen for cooking, beautiful desert garden area out front, feeling of privacy, Games provided (we loved this on the rainiest day).. 3 T.Vs, the outdoor fireplace/bar area with lights...awesome!!!, washer and dryer, large walk in closet area for all your luggage, desk area ( I used for make up area getting ready) ..all of it was amazing! The Tangerine Cactus Cottage is amazing! My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary this October and we absolutely loved this place. It has a ton of character, modern appliances, comfortable furniture, and is immaculately kept. We loved the three different outdoor spaces to sit and relax during different times of the day. All very fun, especially the outdoor fireplace and bar. The cottage is very well appointed with everything you need. The beds are extremely comfortable and the two bathrooms are great. The location cannot be beat - the neighborhood is very quiet and safe, and the town of Cave Creek and everything you want to do is minutes away. Cave Creek is a fabulous area with lots of fun shops, great restaurants, and a lively music scene. We highly recommend staying at the Tangerine Cactus cottage and would stay here again for sure!

The desert garden is gorgeous, the cottage is compact, but the living room and kitchen are good sized. The owner has written up a great guide book for the house and things to do in the community. Communication with the owner was easy. If I ever come back to Cave Creek with friends, I would want to stay here again.

My husband, myself, son and our small dog were very pleased with the Tangerine Cottage. We stayed for a week in the month of May. It has lovely furnishings,( quirky and fun), the kitchen had everything needed, along with a nice outdoor grill. We loved the three different outside areas that were all fenced in. The Cave Creek area has great shopping, restaurants, golf and hiking. It is close to Scottsdale for additional excursions. We would and may stay there again!

Loved this place! I came here for a quick golf get- away and a little R&R. The house is situated in a great location - easy to get to Cave Creek yet in a beautiful serene neighborhood. The house itself was very clean, open and perfectly appointed. The kitchen had all the utensils needed to cook several meals...Carol thought of everything. I'm a bit of a bed-snob and the beds were comfy ! The best part of the house is the outside patios - there are 3 patios to choose from. My favorite patio was in the front of the house - Sitting there with a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night and looking at Black mountain was really relaxing. I can't decide which is better - the Tangerine Cottage or Cave Creek! This property is squeaky clean, beautifully decorated and comprehensively equipped. We loved the three distinct outdoor areas. The backyard was perfect for our dogs. The front patio is wonderful for taking in the morning sun and contemplating the saguaro. The side patio with outdoor gas fireplace and bar-b-que is fantastic, too. Inside, the linens are top notch and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The gas fireplace in the living room was especially nice during the couple of cool and rainy days/evenings. Did I mention how clean everything is? No cringe factors here (which we have experienced in other VRBO properties.) Everything is inviting and conducive for a relaxing visit and our week went by way too quickly. We visit Phoenix almost every year at this time for Rockies spring training and this was our first time staying in Cave Creek. It was an easy 30 minute drive to Salt River Fields. The neighborhood where the "cottage" is located is eclectic and a welcome change from the monochrome of Scottsdale. Every house is different and walking the dogs each day allowed us to explore and interact with some of the year-round locals. It's also a short walk into "downtown" Cave Creek which is also a nice bonus. We will definitely be back!

We spent a month in the Tangerine Desert Cottage and it was a wonderful Arizona experience, crazy weather and all! The fireplaces were much needed and very lovely! We couldn’t have asked for better owners to work with. The cottage itself was delightfully decorated and had everything we needed. Very funky! Great hot tub and outdoor sitting areas, even when snow/frost covered. We loved walking through the Cave Creek neighborhood with our golden retriever, seeing the amazing art work there as well as the museum and being able to walk to Oregano’s for pizza. We would come back in a heartbeat! Thanks, Carol and Tim, for a great month.

Charming atmosphere with SW flair. New upscale washer dryer and kitchen appliances. Top of the line mattress and linens. Internet and TV was perfect. Our host was extra helpful and even supplied me with local referrals for shopping. Lots of how-to instructions left for our benefit. Less than 10 minutes from Cave Creek. Area is committed to avoiding outdoor light pollution so arriving before dark makes finding the neighborhood and house easier. Would recommend this property to all who want a quiet, cozy retreat!

We absolutely loved our stay at this quirky awesome cottage! We have stayed all over the country and Europe using HomeAway properties and this one ranks right up there with our all-time favorites. The cottage was spotless, bedding was luxurious and the vibe was fun from the beginning. It has been decorated in such an interesting way, but comfort was first and foremost. So many great things to see and do around the Cave Creek area but we mostly enjoyed catching up with friends on the incredible patio taking advantage of the great October weather. Carol was an absolute joy to work with, allowing our special requests and communicating in such a timely and professional manner. Her welcome gift was so appreciated and set the tone for our stay. We visit the Scottsdale area yearly and hope to stay at the Tangerine Cottage whenever we are there. The owner shared her plan to install a hot tub soon and it will be an awesome addition to their rental, hope it's ready when we return! It is a little orange jewel in the desert :)

My stay in early November was fantastic! Such a quiet and eclectic neighbor hood. 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Cave Creek. The house has everything you may need and the owners are great!

The cottage is even more quaint in person than the photos show. It is very comfortable and charming indoors with everything you need to spend a weekend or a week. The beds are extremely comfortable with lovely linens. The natural landscape is so calming and relaxing. There are art installations in the garden and several outdoor spaces to enjoy. We loved the enclosed court yard with it's fireplace and bar. The owners are very easy to communicate with and the neighbor is the most helpful man. The cottage is an easy drive to Phoenix. You'll want to check out Cave Creek and Carefree. Excellent local shopping and dining. The locals are so nice, we were constantly taken back by how engaging and helpful everyone was. We were there for a girls weekend and intend to make it an annual event.

This is a great property, in a great location (super close to old town Cave Creek!). The house was clean, comfy, and really cute. We loved our weekend here. Wish we could have stayed longer!

First of all, you cannot beat this location. It is only 30 minutes from Phoenix and Scottsdale, so it is easy to travel to Cave Creek. The house itself is nestled just close enough to the main drag in town so that you can leisurely walk in to town. When you are relaxing back at the house, you would never know that you are so close however! It is so peaceful on this property, and the landscape is dotted with saguaros, succulents, and other local flora. Bunnies are out in the yard every morning, and you can see them from your bedroom because the double doors have glass for you to peer through as you wake up. The house is decorated gorgeously, my personal favorite is the authentic poncho. The owner provides all modern necessities and creature comforts, which is so nice of her. The seating inside and outside is comfortable, the leather throne upholstered with cowhide and horsehair is a personal favorite reading spot. This is a perfect place to unwind and live in the sunshine. If you are trying to get work done, there is a big desk for you to focus. Also, there are a few coffeeshops walking distance that are conducive to working as well. All in all, I would highly recommend this place. The price is right too!
