Funda Hotel

Wonderful breakfast, great views of the Black Sea, central location close to shopping and restaurants, helpful and friendly staff, comfortable room, and excellent help parking our rental car.

Restaurant was frequently out of items and drinks on the menu. One night it was closed, but staff offered to get take out for us, which we did.

Location is great with views of the Black Sea and close to the old market and shops/restaurants. Staff were wonderful, kind, and caring. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Room was a little small but comfortable.

Toilet flush button did not work properly so we had to jiggle it to flush. Not a big deal but annoying.

The location is excellent, right in the center of Trabzon and very convenient for exploring the city. We were also very warmly welcomed at check-in, and the staff at reception were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The hotel has a restaurant/rooftop terrace with a beautiful view over Trabzon. In our opinion, this is actually the best place to enjoy the view.

We booked a 25 m² room, but the room we received was nowhere near that size. It felt closer to 15 m², and there was barely enough space to move around. There was not even enough floor space to properly open our suitcases, which was very inconvenient for a multi-night stay. The bathroom ventilation did not work properly either. We had booked a room with a sea view, which was nice, but since the room had no balcony, the view felt less useful than expected. The rooftop terrace offers a much better place to enjoy the scenery. Although we were very friendly received at check-in and again at check-out, our overall impression of the service became less positive afterwards. During check-out, one of the employees had a telephone conversation in a very unpleasant and unfriendly tone. This made the otherwise warm hospitality feel somewhat superficial. Overall, the hotel has a great location, friendly reception staff and a lovely rooftop terrace, but the significant difference between the advertised room size and the actual room was a major disappointment.
