Motel One Glasgow

Clean rooms, quiet spaces, convenient location.

Rooms are very basic and quite small. Expensive for what you get.

Very central, the rooms were bright and clean and the staff were very helpful

Breakfast was very good, especially for value. The coffee and croissants were highlights, though the fruit was wanting. Cleanliness of the place was great, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was nice.

The temperature could not be regulated in the room and control unit appeared to be inoperable, if not a dummy. We were told by staff to open our windows to make it cooler, yet it remained too warm in the room. They said, “Motel One” conditions the air of the entire building and that patrons cannot. The hallways and lobby were too warm as well. The bedding, while clean, had tattered edges from wear, and the safe wouldn’t work for us.

The rooms, although very small, were nicely decorated and were very clean. The comfy bed, the bathroom, the view were all good. The blackout curtains were excellent. Lighting was good. Window soundproofing was fine.

The size of the room and closeness to the adjacent rooms. I felt like I was stepping into a miniature world. Hearing the flushing of toilets (every 10 mins at least during the night) and shower use from surrounding rooms. One night was more than enough even with ear plugs these noises were audible. The squeaky shower floor. The reception staff eating as they are serving you should have been a red flag for me. Breaks are for eating, not when you are doing your job. Not being given any instructions on where to go after initial check-in, which direction to take, what floor. I had to ask, which should not be the case, however, curtesy was in abundance. The bed smelt a little musky.
