Grand Hotel Monopole

Well appointed room, ensuite bathroom and toilet. Competitively priced for the facilities and area. Quiet area of town less than 5 mins walk from railway station.

An in house restaurant would have been nice, but not too far to walk. Reservation rather difficult as it is assumed everyone is computer literate! What is a digital key? In the end we did a normal check in!

Easy check-in after parking in car park - although expensive parking, although secure, flat & well lit. Lift or stairs to second floor room. Room dated & smelt faintly of smoke. Twin bed comfortable. Bathroom fine. Full height opening doors/windows a good period feature. Excellent choice of channels on TV inc. BBC & Eurosport. Safe didn't work. Good breakfast choice. Well appointed bar & decent lager on draft. Good central location to town, short walk to loads of restaurants, bars & opposite railway station.

Room dated & smelt faintly of smoke. Common areas would benefit from decoration. Parking expensive.

It is not far to the centre which is a great place to visit with plenty of bars and restaurants It has on site parking

The only issue I had was with an automated check in but the link wouldn't work but that's more of an I.T. glitch than a problem with the hotel

Die nostalgische Einrichtung des Hotels und Freundlichkeit an der Rezeption Unser 3 Bettzimmer , waren 2 Doppelzimmer, was von uns sehr begrüsst wurde Die Lage mit kurzem Fußweg in die Stadt mit einer grandiosen Auswahl an Speiselokalen

Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig. Wenn die Gäste nach Hause kommen wird man geweckt und wenn morgens gegen 5 Uhr die Koffer gepackt werden, ist die Nacht vorbei. Man hört jeden Schritt vom Zimmer nebenan oder darüber.
