Parador de Baiona

Beautiful location with stunning views. Staff were very helpful and friendly

This Parador is a little tired...it needs updating in some places, the carpets on stairs and in hallways look dirty and worn, The furniture in the room looked dated and worn. The cleanliness throughout was below my expectations. The bathroom had hair in the tub from a previous stay. The elevator could be heard from our room with a loud sound every time it operated. I also found the food presentation very basic. There needs to be a lesson in the kitchen on how to prepare eggs for breakfast...Scrambled eggs looked terrible, fried eggs were not any better and undercooked. The bacon was very tough. I certainly expected better quality for the price.

Room was a tiny bit small for 3 but with a comfortable camp bed for the third person everything great however only small problem they forgot the third towel!

Starting with the snooty reception staff at check in, followed by a room that had the overwhelming odor of a backed up sewer (and the smell never went away to the point that it was hard to sleep), followed by two guests entering our room after we had checked in (assigned the same room), followed by some staff member expressing sincere apologies for this but never delivering on a promise he made, to an understaffed restaurant to the same reception staff showing absolutely NO regard for the odor in our room, I would say it has been the MOST expensive and LEAST pleasant stay of our Camino walk. We booked this hotel as a respite and it was far from that. We have had nice stays in every other place we’ve stayed on the Camino at a third of the price.
