Hôtel Henri IV

We got a warm welcome, the place was clean and had everything we needed. It was also very central, but not noisy. In the morning, theres beautiful continental breakfast offered in a classy bar on the first floor. It was like visiting someones home. Thank you.

The location within the historic city centre of La Rochelle is absolutely perfect. Step out of the hotel and you're in the middle of a buzzing, vibrant city. Getting in touch with the personnel was quick through the booking app and they were quick to follow up on some issues we had. The room was small, but relatively comfortable and the bathroom was clean and nice.

The room description on booking didn't really match with the room. Even though it was listed clearly in the description on booking, there were no ventilator and sofa in the room. We didn't care about the sofa, but with temperatures close to 40 degrees, the ventilator was absolutely necessary to have somewhat of a comfortable night. We made a comment about this and when we came back to the room later on, luckily the ventilator was there. Unfortunately, after leaving this review, the owner contacted me personally to once again tell me the ventilator and sofa are not part of this room. As I did during our stay, I handed over screenshots with evidence. The owner blamed Booking for the incorrect discription, but oddly enough tried to blame me for following up on this.

Great location for old port but this meant it was very noisy. Rooms small but quite comfortable.

Noise outside at night right up to 3am.
