The hotel was clean, well maintained

I was organising a trip for a group. About a month before arrival, funds were blocked in my account to guarantee our arrival and payment. This is most understandable to me. At check-out, when each of our participants handed in their room cards, the receptionist asked each of them to pay the full amount for the room. As the organiser of the trip, I lost the confidence of my group as they became concerned about whether they were covering the cost of the trip they had paid me for. I wanted to clarify the situation with the receptionist, who said that the money was still only blocked and Maranello Palace had still not collected it, while I could not access it either. So she suggested that I pay on the spot for the whole group and in two days the hotel would unblock the amount it had previously blocked. This sounds like an unfunny joke or an attempt at fraud. The whole situation took place on 8 August, around 9am. We had a Pagani factory tour booked for 10am, which we barely had time to attend. After this incident, the group lost confidence in me as an organiser
