Staff were friendly and helpful.. The actual building was a very very old beautifully converted farm which was converted to an inn and where Queen Victoria stayed. If it was suitable for her occupation then it was suitable for mine. 😀. Breakfast was lovely and the dinner the previous evening was very tasty and my husband said that the cheeseboard was the best he had ever had and boy has he had a few.
The carpet had large butterflies in the pattern and I kept thinking I was about to stand on something.- this is the only bad thing I can think of.

Lady (Rachel) on reception at check-in was excellent and speedy despite there being about 20 others all booking in as I arrived. Breakfast was served promptly despite there being a very busy restaurant and the lady serving was friendly and welcoming even though she was rushed off of her feet. Bar staff in the evening were very attentive.
Gym is really good too for a hotel gym.
Swipe card is temperamental to open the gym (was on my last stay too).

Property is really pretty but the beds are awful, small ( not kingsize as advertised) and HARD!!!
Staff are pleasant but standard of service at breakfast VERY poor and not what you would expect for the money you are paying - would not stay again
Lovely village and decor or hotel ( but not the beds!! they are awful)
