Location perfect Staff lovely Nice breakfast

Room was a little musky smell Probably due to being an old building Could have done with opening windows in room

The hotel was very helpful and phoned on the eve prior to our arrival to check with us and let us know that the kitchen closed on Sundays at 6.00 p.m (the day we were arriving) and as we wished to have a meal, was advised if we arrived at the restaurant by 5.45 p.m. we would be able to have an evening meal. The hotel staff were friendly and the room was well equipped, with two easy chairs, which was great

We arrived at the restaurant at 5.28 p.m. and was told it was closed, which was a disappointment. We let them know that we had been told that if we arrived by 5.45 p.m. we would be served, to no avail Breakfast was not included in the hotel price. On our arrival on the Monday morning to have breakfast we were asked for our room number and as no-one said anything different, presumed we would have a bill at the end of our stay when we were booking out. We were challenged on the second morning that we owed for yesterday's breakfast. If we had been advised that they required payment each day that would have been perfectly fine, but as there was not a bill handed to us as the breakfast was delivered, we were rather surprised at the challenge as if we may rush off and not pay them. It was rather strange. If we ordered a pot of tea and breakfast together the tea would be cold by the time the breakfast arrived. If we ordered the tea and breakfast together and asked for a delay in serving the tea, it would still be cold as they would make the tea and keep it in the kitchen until the breakfast was delivered. The breakfast varied on several occasions. For the same order sometimes you were lucky to have 2 slices of toast and on others it was only one. The restaurant apparently is a different business to the hotel, which we were not aware of but if they had introduced themselves on our first day for breakfast and ran through how they ran their business it would have been much appreciated

Room only booking. Excellent location. Comfortable loft room. Probably the best walk in shower I've used anywhere !!

The lift was really cramped with a low roof. Probably best described as a service lift..

The sash windows were covered in by secondary glazing panels and the aircon was not able to be customised in the room
