Great staff throughout the hotel, really friendly and helpful, always smiling. Hotel is in a superb location, access straight onto beautiful beach and easy access to Alvor in the evening. Sea view rooms well worth getting. Very nice breakfast and pool bar food really good too. A great hotel all round.

Only disappointment, which perhaps falls more on the guests than the hotel, was the sunbeds at the pool. Whilst plentiful & pool staff really helpful, people were getting up before sunrise to put their towels on the sunbeds and very often they would be there all day unoccupied until they might want to use the pool hours later. We were a family of six but often couldn't even get one sunbed. I would suggest the hotel try and come up with a system or stronger enforcement for this not to happen. Just a bit frustrating...but certainly didn't take away from a great holiday.

The hotel got our request wrong. Requested 2single beds but then after complaining about double bed, they added a basic additional spring bed. Expected more from a 5 star. They moved us to a 2single bed room on the last night. The rooms are a bit old, older finishings.

The location overlooking the fabulous beach is unbeatable. Hotel facilities are 10/10. All staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Had a wonderful massage in the spa. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Sea view room was spacious and clean.

The hotel feels a bit old and tired. The pool area is very good, but the room and common spaces are calling for renovations.

The beds were uncomfortable, decor was dated, gym is small, not air conditioned and beside a heated indoor pool (so very over heated).

no a/c atm in the rooms- hot/uncomfortable as a result garden superior room small and is mainly of car park and our room never any sun on the small balcony very tired bathroom. robes/towels v thin seagulls a problem here as so near the cliffs. pool can look like a sea lake at times i got messed on by sitting in outside bar area. bird mess everywhere- no comfy cushioned furniture anyway outdoors to sit/lie on as results. didnt feel 5 star

Location was perfect beside the beach. Breakfast was great for the kids and great selection for all.

It would have been nice to have vending machines, especially for bottles of water. It was hard to get water unless you were prepared to pay 4 times more than you would in the town. We had a baby with us and depended on a lot of water for his bottles and food. Also, the connected room wasn't available for us when we arrived. We ended up having one adult in a single room paying twice as much as originally planned. The hotel couldn't help us with the cost because we went through booking.com and when we contacted them they wouldn't help. This would turn me off booking through this site in the future.

One of the best hotels we have stayed at, the hotel staff were exceptional. Breakfast was a delight with multiple choices that was varied daily. The hotel had so many facilities that we spent much more time there than we had planned.

While we were staying the evening meal was 4 or 5 courses at 35 euros but didn't come with a glass of something to wash it down with.

After being placed in the ground floor room I had to pay 135e extra for a 5th floor Seaview room. Loved the Seaview and the breakfast was excellent.

Location & proximity to beach. Well decorated and modern. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The food was of a good standard with lots of variety and in plentiful supply throughout the breakfast and dinner period regardless of time of arrival..

The hotel is very old and roughed up... I got a deluxe superior room on the top floor and it was very but very old and for a 5 star hotel in Portugal I was expecting much more. The interior pool was cold, everything was older than me, I asked for a couple's bed and I got two individual beds... A true shame but I guess they want to scam the tourists since the hotel was full of them. No locals in sight.
