Quiet & very clean hotel, confortable room, excellent breakfast and most importantly very polite & kind staff at the reception (I particularly think of Hasna, Basma & Chaimae, they have been always happy to help). Thanks also to Kawtar (guest relations) for her efforts in making all arrangements in place for our special event celebration. I highly recommend the Golden Fish restaurant by the pool, the food there was wonderful.

We travelled all the way from Australia looking forward to some much-needed rest and relaxation at a five-star Sofitel. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. Check-in took over 45 minutes, with virtually no communication, no welcome drink or refreshing towel. We could hear drilling and banging while standing at reception, yet when I specifically asked whether construction was taking place, I was told there was none. Our renovated room was lovely, but it was directly exposed to hours of drilling, hammering and construction noise from the fifth floor. None of these works were disclosed on Booking.com. Had we known, we would never have booked. The standout was the exceptional Guest Relations Manager, who genuinely went above and beyond to look after us. She arranged for the restaurant teams to welcome us personally, and the seafood restaurant manager was wonderful, providing attentive service and thoughtful complimentary entrées. These staff members deserve enormous recognition and are the reason we stayed. Unfortunately, lovely rooms and exceptional individual staff cannot compensate for constant construction noise and a lack of transparency. Sofitel needs to be upfront about renovations so guests can make informed decisions. We expected considerably better from this brand.

Unfortunately, the hotel was undergoing significant construction works that were not disclosed anywhere on Booking.com. The drilling, banging and hammering continued for hours, making it impossible to relax. Even more disappointing, we specifically asked about the construction during check-in, as we could already hear the noise, and were told there was no construction taking place. Additionally, one of the hotel bars was closed throughout our stay, further limiting the facilities we expected from a five-star property. Had we known about the construction and disruption beforehand, we would not have booked this hotel.
