Hotel Wroxham

Fantastic location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food, breakfast, and the restaurant where we ate in the evening were excellent. Really good variety and quality.

The bedroom was clean and had tea/coffee making facilities. Nice range of products in the bathroom.. but the double bed was way too small for us and made sleeping uncomfortable..

The staff were excellent. Efficient service and very, very pleasant. The terrace overlooking the river was very comfortable as was the dining room. The hotel has made the best of the close to the river location and the 1970's 2 storey block it occupies with atmospheric lighting and immaculate and stylish decoration. Beds are extremely comfortable.

The bedroom was a bit cramped. The smoking area of the outside tables was very close to the whole length of the non smoking terrace. In fact the non smoking terrace was approx 18" higher with smoking tables immediately adjacent and below them. Smoke goes up... so no escape. Local people obviously v familiar with the hotel and its staff were happy to sit within a couple of feet of guests on the terrace and puffed away. This inflicts passive smoking on non-smokers who are paying quite a lot to stay. The hotel should clearly mark just a few tables for smokers well away from the otherwise superbly comfortable terrace. I also felt the meals were quite costly and the pub grub type options rather skimpy for the amount charged.

The location is superb, right in the heart of wroxham with free parking. Balcony rooms are a good size and offer a great view over the river, perfect for watching the boats. Breakfast was excellent, the staff member on breakfast duty was really helpful.

All.guest rooms upstairs, stairs access only and poor handrails. Often difficult during the day to find a seat in the inside lounge as open to non residents and obviously very popular. The only seating area always available is in the reception area which is very dark, felt "cluttered" with no view. Staffing low, reception frequently unmanned, although Midweekstaff were helpful when present. Issue with bathroom floor being very slippy in bare feet. Didn't feel the concern raised was taken seriously. To anyone stopping in Ranworth suite you may need to be aware.
