The Parsonage Hotel & Spa

It was very near to York. A good swimming pool and very good food in the pub next door.

We had a ground floor room and difficult to have the window open but, we did!

Convenient location. Rooms clean and serviceable if a little tired. Despite wedding party happening our room was very quiet which was appreciated.

Bathroom could do with a bit of renovation - quite a few cracked tiles etc. Breakfast was very busy due to coach party staying and a wedding - if we had known about this we would have tried to come in before or after the main rush. Lots of options running out quickly so had to keep waiting (although staff did replace as quickly as they could).

Breakfast and food was excellent and we didn't even think of eating anywhere else for our evening meals. Facilities and Spa were very good.

When we arrived we found out that we had been moved from the Parsonage to a neighbouring premises on the grounds over a local pub/restaurant (the Fat Monk I think) and that was a little disappointing as I felt it wasn't what we had booked on the website. The Room was definitely smaller as it had a hip roof which impinged the height of the room. I'm 6'4" and felt stooped in places. The move to this premises is the only reason I've marked this venue as low as this. I don't feel we got what was advertised.
