Great location in a wonderful Manor House.
Small dark room and no airflow. You have to pay for cooked breakfast if you don’t book direct otherwise it’s just continental. And they charge for late coffee with breakfast. Weddings over take the place albeit mostly in the adjoining barn.

The receptionist was amazing. She made us feel very welcome. A beautiful old building. We had tea outside on the patio looking at the green. A fantastic stay

The driveway and the deer were beautiful. The building although in need of refurbishment and modernising internally. Room 29 cracked wash hand basin, a broken Roman blind, a tiny dribble of cold water out of the basin tap and very ordinary brown wood furniture.
Bedroom 19.
The cracked bathroom basin room 29. The broken Roman blind. For the record whoever fitted it needs firing. You never put Roman blinds on windows with handle opens so close. They will always catch the cords and break.
If you have a bath there’s no soap available - well unless you stand up to shower level to get some soap - dangerous manoeuvre especially for older people. Certainly no soap for the children to use. Generally the corridors need to refurbished - the corridor carpets which are worn in places.
In bedroom 16.
I visited my son in Room 16. I needed oxygen after 4 stair cases - no lift - and no warning of no lifts. Booking.com should have warned anyone about this. My son is disabled after broken legs, collapsed lungs, multiple internal organ same etc etc etc. He can walk unaided but is not able to do all these stairs. I couldn’t swap rooms as I had my dog.
We paid extra for this Superior room…it was bloody awful. A pink bath circa 1970’s for one thing. Sloping ceiling attic room which I’d expect to be a cheap room not charged extra for. It was embarrassing as I booked it. Also I walked in and put my large Hendricks g&t on the small round drinks table between the chairs in room 16 and my drink went straight off the table…it’s not flat!!! Quaint as the brown furniture might be it needs to work. His bottle of water had a pubic hair on it. Yes you read that correctly. Again just in need of an uplift and refurbishing. Corridor carpets were worn. Etc etc.
Also when he returned to his room after dinner his door was ajar. The room just felt very down at heel and not what he expected.

"gutes Frühstück, eigenes Wildgehege mit Rotwild vor der Terrasse, altes Herrenhaus mit langer Geschichte und viel Platz in den Zimmern."
