The comfortable room and quality of the evening meal
The fact that we were emailed (in our check in invite) about the option of using the sister hotel's spa, yet we found out, when trying to book it, that this was a facility that was closed for refurbishment.

We had the superior room and we really loved the design, it felt its own apartment. The hotel itself is so beautiful and modern with that Cotswolds twist. Hugo Spritz was unreal.
Flashing smoke detector light and really hot in the room because the towel radiator was on and couldn’t be turned off as it’s on a timer. The breakfast server was a bit miserable and I noticed she was very stern with a lot of guests, a little smile wouldn’t go far wrong. They could have been having a bad day?

I wouldn’t say didn’t like, that’s a bit too strong.
The double bed was on the small side and the mattress was very thick and like a trampoline when either of us moved. The duvet was exceptionally heavy.

Great location, good breakfast, big bed
Staff didn’t make us feel very welcome. We had our dog with us and we feel they treated us differently because of this.
Lady at breakfast was borderline rude.
Bathroom felt dirty and the room was NOT what was advertised on booking.com - It was incredible small.
