Hollywood City Inn

Man bekommt, was man bucht: passables Zimmer, Sauberkeit okay bis auf die Ameisen, kostenloses Parken, Pool (haben wir nicht genutzt). Lage aus meiner Sicht gut für Ausflüge in alle Richtungen. Gegend ist nicht die beste, aber es gibt viele Restaurants und einen Target einen Block weiter

Im Bad war eine Ameisenstraße, ich habe das Loch durch das sie gekommen sind mit nassem Papier zugeklebt, dann kamen keine mehr rein. Hätten die Mitarbeiter auch hinkriegen können. Rezeptionist war etwas distanziert

IT was a great price in a great location. It was within walking distance to a Target and other stores, and only a 10 minutes drive to Universal Studios, which is the reason for the trip. The room was clean, and had decent amenities for the price. They did their best to also accommodate my disabled mother. We came back late from Universal Studios and found out at some point we lost the room key cards while we were there, and someone was at the late night desk and able to get us a new key which I was grateful for.

The beds were pretty hard, and the pillows weren't very plush. In terms of comfort in that regard, it was okay. We paid for two nights, three days, from Oct 7th to the 9th. On the 8th one of the staff was knocking on our door while we were getting ready, and telling us that check out is at 11 and that we needed to check out. I told the staff member that we were here until the 9th. I got dressed quickly and went with him to the office to further show him that we were booked for one more night. He did see that when he pulled it up, and did apologize. Still, it was abrupt for all of us to hear that we had to leave the hotel while we were getting ready for our day at Universal Studios.

Excellent position and the staff was very nice. Free parking is available upon request. A small swimming pool is also available.

The rooms are old but very clean, and that was fine for us.

This hotel is just a block away from a Metro station. That and the price --plus no charge for parking -- made it an attractive option for our Anime Expo trip this year. It worked well for us in that respect, and from the other cars in the parking lot we weren't the only AX attendees staying there. There's a shopping center with a Ralphs and a Norm's restaurant across the street from the Metro station, and a Target not far away in the other direction for any last-minute needs.

The hot water in our room never got very hot. Lukewarm was about the best we got, which was discouraging after long days with lots of walking. The AC unit was very noisy, which would have been a serious problem had we not been pretty exhausted at the end of every day.
