Hele goede locatie tov strand en centrum en toch heel rustig gelegen. Personeel was erg vriendelijk. Kamers super groot en fijne badkamer. De bootjes voor t hotel vonden wij juist heel charmant en zeker niet storend. Ze hebben netten in de zee gehangen om t zeewier tegen te houden.
Het eten was van goede kwaliteit. Water-vul systeem is super.

great facilities, food and restaurants staff
I did not like constantly being dismissed by Bonito at reception. he was rude, unapproachable, never wanted to or happy to help…. every time I approached him about my amended booking he was not willing to help, or listen. after speaking with many guests and guest services he is known for having terrible customer service and never wanting to help hotel guests!! I spoke to him every day about my amended booking and even though i am staying in the hotel an extra 2 nights he has charged me a cancellation fee!! it’s defo had a huge impact on my experience of this trip

The hotel is in a great location. Super close to 5th Avenue and amazing eateries. The pool and gym were great and the food at the buffet, snack bar and different restaurants was delicious.
The walls are paper thin and you can hear people in the room next to you. The music at the pool started super early so you can't have a sleep in and you can hear it because of the thin walls.

walking distance to 5 Ave
there is also a 7/11 just outside of the property which also has an atm.
the room had a good view of the pool.
nothing stood out.
maybe snack bar had limited choices and the buffet dinner did get a bit boring.. But was nothing major, still enjoyed the resort.

We have got married there;) Just in the lobby;) The stuff was attentive and I love the idea of having a welcome drink (mimosa) as it puts you on vacation mood! I loved Victor concierge because he was kind and nice with us. Also Boris from animation team is doing his really best dancing zumba what it's +35 outside and trying to involve the guests in activities. I believe he is the best at his job. All people at restaurants take care of you checking if you need water or drink or anything else! I do appreciate it. Please don't trust references saying that there is no variety of food : they have a buffet restaurant for your breakfast, lunch and dinner and in between there is a snack bar (hamburgers, nachos etc) AND you can make a reservation for a speciality restaurant - we have tried Italian: it was great! You won't regret!
I wish there are more activities present (the team is not doing the whole program as advertised)... The beach was full of sargasso so we could only swim in the pool.

The resort was beautiful, the food was great. We had the all-inclusive beach ⛱️ front. It was lovely. The location was perfect. Very close to 5th Avenue . We received complimentary wine and cooldrinks in the room.

The food didn’t have a lot of selections, the rooms were small & loud. The beach was small & the surf very rough!

location very good; different sports activities (yoga, tennis, table tennis) and evening shows; massage opportunity; room was nice. Good bottle water and beer with lime. Fruits are fresh, loved the sweet watermelon. Snack bar food was okey. Stuff was friendly. All in exclusive was comfortable that you didn’t need to pay and tip every time you needed something. Sunrise straight from the middle of the sea.
In January very windy; food was average or poor taste; mexican restaurant food wasn’t good. All exclusive coctails were not drinkable for me (based on water and syrup like coca fanta sprite). Noisy first floor room (you hear everything outside). They SCAM - invite you to “group 90min meeting” and try to sell you pyramid scheme cheaper vacations and echos to front in 5-10y and they want you to pay front 18K etc. For that they offer you free daily tour or book free massage. Breakfast or dinner or bar queue was sometimes long that you needed to wait. Pool water was unheated so when swimming or playing there was cold. Stuff moves your plates from table very quickly even if you’re unfinished yet. If you want to change the room stuff advised to do it in the next day or at 1:30 pm like check-out and check-in again solution. All in exclusive package required to wear 24/7 a plastic yellow wristband which may scratch you. At the beach there was many fishboats parking at your sight.

Breakfast was the only halfway decent meal because of the made to order omelet station. You have to ask for breakfast meat. The Italian restaurant was good, but don’t go hungry. You won’t receive your food until an hour after your reservation.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND!! The Reef CocoBeach has beautiful scenery and beautiful grounds, but I can write a book on why I do not recommend this resort. When we arrived at The Reef CocoBeach where we initially booked, supposedly the resort was under construction, so we were sent to their sister location, PlayaCar which was 20 minutes away. When we arrived to the PlayaCar location, it was also breathtakingly beautiful. Here are the bullet points of why I rated PlayaCar Resort 0/10:
◦ Disgusting Cafeteria Food, Self Serve at Snack Bar, No authentic Mexican cuisine
◦ Disgusting Drinks, All Inclusive is a joke!
◦ Beds HARD AS A BRICK
◦ Pools and Poolside Bar closes early
◦ The only decent cuisine is at the Italian restaurant, but reservations fill up quickly and it takes an hour to eat after your reservation.
My family and I stayed one night at The Reef CocoBeach resort and I would rate that location 2/10:
◦ Better food options, made to order tacos and tostados
◦ Beds are even HARDER at this resort than PlayaCar
◦ You CAN NOT RELAX on the beach or at the resort. Every 2 minutes some one is harassing you about photos, katamarans, massages, etc.
◦ The beach view is full of boats. The view at PlayaCar was better.
◦ Again, the poolside bar closes early.
◦ Drinks are only strong at the bar in the lobby!

The onsite restaurant selection is good. We enjoyed the breakfast, Italian restaurant, and pool bar services. A very good location in Play De Carmen: you are directly on the beach and within walking distance from the center of Carmen.
Even all the food and drink services were good, some visitors would have enjoyed all day ice-cream service :)

We loved this property. The room was very nice & had a cute balcony. We asked for an adjoining room & were accommodated. The buffet was exceptional, the entire dining room was truly beautiful with a gorgeous view!
My only disappointment would be the swim up bar did not serve which defeated the purpose.

Breakfast buffet had a good range of options although mostly fried foods.
Nice swimming pool and beachfront access although the beach itself was small and dirty. Would recommend staying in Playa Car for better beaches and blue water
I paid for a superior double room for 2 adults and ended up travelling on my own (with friends but they had separate rooms). although I had the same room booked as my friends for the same price and I was 1 adult whilst they were 2 + a baby, I was given a far worse room with no sockets by the bed or in the room. I told receptionist I have no sockets and I want to move rooms and they sent someone to move the furniture in the room so they can find a socket behind the furniture and I was told they can’t change mu room although whilst having this conversation in the reception area, people were checking out meaning they had rooms but just refused to move me. my friends paid 270$ to upgrade to all inclusive for 2 adults and a baby so I asked how much would be for me to upgrade to all inclusive and I was told $270. so it doesn’t matter how many people are in the room, they charge per room, not per person/occupancy.
throughout the stay the staff were all grumpy and rude. I wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend! their other hotel Playa Car is by far the best in terms of location, facilities and staff. I would recommend booking the other resort or just finding a completely different resort as there are many lovely hotels around the area such as Mahekal and many others.
the rooms does not look like a 4* hotels - mostly a 3* hotel.

It was a good size resort for our 5 year old daughter. We liked their shows and the location.
The staff are not the greatest. In general, they are not so kind and smily. I didn't feel we are welcomed.

Staff other than reception was friendly
Terrible experience. I would never stay here again.
1) staff at reception were unfriendly and constantly hustling to get more money out of us. They asked us if we wanted to upgrade. They offered $200 additional per day which I refused. Next offer was $100 per day which I refused again as I had already spent $375 per night because of holidays.
Since I refused, they gave us the worst possible room. When asked if we could move to another room in the same category, without checking they refused.
2) room and bed were terrible. We hardly could sleep for the nights we spent.
3) while checking out I asked if I can extend by 1 more hour so I could get to my flight directly from the hotel. Room was available but the response was additional $13 per hour per person charge. Who does that !
4) all facilities are very mediocre. I would suggest to look at many more options available in the neighborhood before you have to book this hotel.

The location of the hotel was perfect, the beach was stunning, pool was lovely, food was mediocre apart grom the Japanese and Mexican restaurants which were delicious. The staff were so friendly in particular all the waiting staff.

We didn't have breakfast. We finally arrived at 5 PM, and we hadn't eaten all.day. they would not, could not find anything for us to eat at all! Then they tried to charge us $90 dollars EACH for dinner.
Construction noise. Room location. Ripoff attitude.

Some of the staff was amazing, specifically Alan at the Mexican restaurant and Boris from entertainment were great and lots of fun. The location was also pretty good. It was at the end of 5th avenue so it was easy access to walk up and down the main street. Close to lots of cool bars and restaurants.
Some staff especially at the main lobby reception desk and lobby bar were super uptight and rude even, like we were bothering them by having them to their jobs? The hotel itself is very simple. Very basic. Do yourself the favor and splurge a bit more and go to a better hotel. We have been to Mexico multiple times and this is by far the worse hotel we have ever stayed in. There is also construction going on at the hotel which was not stated anywhere as a warning. While we were booking an excursion, we could barely hear the man in front of us because it was so loud in the lobby. Our friends even had to request to move rooms because of the noise. There is construction noise basically ALL THE TIME. Definitely not how you want to relax on vacation.
We had a premium package and you basically had to watch the bartenders and make sure they used top shelf liquors or else they would use cheap stuff. And god forbid you don’t return your pool tower or someone steals yours from your chair, they’ll charge you for it. Lattes and cappuccinos are not included AT YOUR ALL INCLUSIVE, only the watered down coffee at the buffet or in the premium rooms. We upgraded our room to an Ocean view and were placed behind the kitchen on the 2nd floor right above the Sports Bar which was very loud until late, you could hear the plates and noises from the kitchen until late as well. Definitely not worth it the extra money. And sadly we knew the front desk staff wasn’t going to be helpful so it wasn’t even worth trying to talk to them.
Wifi is the room does not work, you basically get kicked out of it every 2 minutes. Honestly worst hotel experience we have had in a while. I would say if you’re on a budget, don’t care about comfort and quality or a young couple/family on your first “budget” holiday then this is the hotel for you. But if you want a proper holiday and an amazing hotel, then find something else. There are a lot of better all inclusive, beach front resort options.
