Makati Shangri-La, Manila

Firstly the staff are wonderful right from check in to cleaners and security is very high ,we found the horizon breakfast as part of our package very good for breakfast and convenient being on the same floor as our room coffee was good there ,and quieter than the buffet breakfast area in lobby ,the pool bar and pool was awesome sadly I only found that day 3 of our stay ,the lounge bar in lobby was relaxed well priced and live entertainment piano and singer every night was pleasant and a great selection of drinks .there is a choice of restaurants also but I found the lounge bar just fine ! I am a smoker so I found the space for that adequate.

This is a stunning older hotel and its showing some age ,we paid to upgrade the room to include the horizon lounge what included a happy hour bar free drinks alcoholic happy hours but the bar was very limited both beers and spirits ,on the good side I could take advantage of that offer in the lounge bar but its still something I paid extra for and could not take advantage off,the room I originally booked was same same so no advantage there either .smoker area ,its beautiful,the staff work endlessly to keep it clean and it is a busy place ,probably I am a bit dissaponted with the users here putting there smokes out in the garden what is not part of the official area where there is proper ash trays ,I walked my butt to them but i also smoked in the unofficial area garden for 3 reasons not enough seating there,during the day its in direct sun ,and whilst they supply an umbrella there is no cover from the rain or very little .its also a bit of a security problem as the swipe door needed by your room swipe is easily breached by waiting authorised guest to open or leave gaining excess .there is also a staff entry that has no excess swipe .the elevators give excess to that floor without swipe .summing up its a great hotel, its an older hotel in Makati Area ,if your there its the place to be the newer Shangrila Edsa is newer and my choice not based on area .

We will definitely coming back . We love the way how the stuff treat us service with the smile .close to everything. Shopping center restaurant.
