Tsitsikamma Village Inn

Beautiful buildings amid a village layout. Great location for exploring tsitsikamma activities. Brilliant breakfast choice and serving staff helpful.

We were unable to book anything better than the cheapest rooms but decided to book anyway. When we arrived we realised why. The whole place - all the nice rooms, restaurants and pub area was overtaken by large bus loads of tourists who obviously all travel as a group. They were extremely loud and the vast majority of dining and breakfast areas reserved for them, they appeared to be oblivious that any other guests are staying at the place. The rooms, not taken up by the main groups were small with paper thin walls. There was a small veranda outside the room but there was only one chair supplied and a bright light which remained on all night immediately outside the door attracting insects. Staff at the reception were generally unhelpful and reluctant to advise ways of finding out about free walking trails or local area information.

Loved the whole ambience of the property. The rooms were a like stepping back into an English village. The gardens were beautiful. The restaurant served great food for breakfast and dinner. What a broad selection for breakfast. All the staff were very attentive.

We asked reception if we could see the rooms before booking and she was accomodating. Found it odd though that she described the rooms to us as ' premium rooms' for middle and higher class and the other rooms were were lower class. That surprised us. 🙈 However everything at the property exceeded our expectations. It was such a beautiful place and it was extremely hot. Thank god there was AC in the room. The bathroom windows could do with an insect screen so that we could leave it opened. It got a bit stuffy especially after showers etc.

Staff are very welcoming and attentive. Food was very good and the rooms comfortable
