A bit noisy being next to road

Great location in the centre of Saint Albans, very rustic, lots of character.
The bathroom was very small, it reminded of the type of bathroom you'd get in a caravan, the shower was very tight, it was a bathroom you "stepped into" as opposed to walk into if that makes sense, it was fine, nothing fancy.

Great location, right opposite the cathedral. Very convenient for exploring the area and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Friendly staff and a very good breakfast.
The property is an old building with a lot of character, so it’s important to keep that in mind when booking. The rooms reflect the age and style of the property, so you shouldn’t expect modern, standard hotel rooms - although they are refurbished and clean. If you appreciate historic buildings and their unique character, this is something to consider when choosing to stay here.
We enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it for a short stay.
Very small bathroom

Although we expected the property to have character and slopping floors were part of the charm , the room was tiny the bed was lumpy the shower was mouldy and the cubicle so small your knees touched the walls when using the toilet. The toilet was a saniflow with a macerater which was extremely noisy- the sink was in the bedroom with no lighting near the mirrow so shaving was literally in the dark. The room did not relect what was seen on the web site very misleading and not a true reflection of room 3. dissappointing experience.
The room was not of the standard portrayed on the web site the bathroom was poor

"Das Hotel liegt zentral in St. Albans, die Zimmer sind aber still. Im Hotel, einem ca. 300 Jahre altes Gebäude, gilt es mehrere (enge) Treppen zu bewältigen. Das Zimmer (double superior) ist geräumig..."
