Great offers for going out or getting involved in case you need inspiration on things to do. Good facilities: laundry room, kitchen, luggage storage, swimmingpool, breakfast if interested. Met great people to talk the night away. The local closeness to train and bus station which is in a mall is an extra bonus.
Actually there could be power outlets at every bed.

Pretty solid location. Okay value considering how insanely expensive Cairns is (most of Australia frankly).
The hostel is in kind of average condition. The rooms give motel vibes and the laundry was gross and non-functional. We asked about it at check in and nobody said anything about 2 out of 3 washers being broken. We had to walk to a coin laundry 15 minutes away, at 9:30pm and spend $10 to wash our laundry before a scuba trip the next day. Not ideal.

Relatively good location about 10 mins walk to the Esplanade. Electronic door card is handy, good sized lockers in the rooms and plenty of hot water for the showers.
No curtains on the beds, no individual light and no plug socket for each either. Outside of the room itself the place looks pretty run down. Not much of a social vibe at all. I cancelled my last two nights there and went to the multiple options right on the Esplanade which was much better all round.
