Poas Volcano Lodge

Die Lodge ist mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Die Lage idt ideal. Das Personal ausserhalb der Rezeption ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The lodge is magnificent as well as its location (very peaceful, up in the mist) and its gardens. The restaurant was excellent.

We were a little disappointed by the room, not very private, no view and had a musty smell.

This was a super accommodation option for us. The main hotel block is modern, and has all sorts of great areas - a reading room, quiet area, pool table, restaurant, viewing area. We had a great breakfast in the restaurant, overlooking a fruit stand with incoming squirrels and birds, and heated with a tiny wooden fire. Unfortunately, Poas volcano was socked in for the entirety of our stay, but I would assume the hotel will have a wonderful view of it when it's clear. The staff here were all great, and kept the extensive property looking lovely. We booked the Deluxe Room, which was huge, but had multiple heating sources for the cold nights (as well as a coffee maker and pods). Not only did the bathroom have 2 sinks, conditioner/shampoo/body wash, and lotion were all supplied. It is a great place to stay if you are looking to travel to/from the nearby Poas Volcano (25min drive).

The driveway in to the premises passes through a dairy farm, and as such is fairly rough and a bit muddy. Once you get through this area, it improves.
