The Sands is in an enviable position right by the edge of the Indian Ocean, facing East for the morning sun. It is a really beautiful hotel, small but perfect, with thatched roofs and high ceilings. My wife and I stayed in Room 5, by far the best room in the hotel with a superb huge bathroom and an enormous 4 poster double bed. We woke at 0530 to witness the spectacular sunrise. I then swam in the infinity pool. Breakfast was exceptional as was dinner; we had delicious and extremely healthy kudu steaks. All the staff have been immensely welcoming, attentive and kind. Absolutely first class and thoroughly deserving of its 5 star rating.
We really liked everything about The Sands and rearranged our holiday plans to stay a second night. No negatives whatsoever.

Sehr schönes liebevoll gestaltetes Hotel mit schönen Meerblick, gutes Frühstück und wer will auch mit gutem Abendessen. Zum Ortskern nur ca. 300-400m und damit auch fussläufig alles zu erreichen.

Wonderful location, great facilities, friendly staff, good breakfast.
This place is just great, the only tiny comment is that the hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Benedict was so sour I could barely eat them.

Everything! The view over the Ocean is just spectacular. The room spotless and made up every day. In the evening the bed was turned down and we received a nougat and a hand written note wishing us good night. On the Saturday night we went out to a wedding and it was pouring with rain. The Sands staff had put hot water bottles in our bed. The staff are friendly, helpful and very professional.
The big window between the bedroom and bathroom should have glass in it besides the blind to make it more private
