Rangetsu is amazing! It is a very luxurious and tranquil experience. The staff are so attentive and the room was pristine. I especially loved the cypress bathtub. Taking multiple baths in it was one of the highlights of my stay in addition to the incredible meals. The location is really exceptional as well. It gets very crowded during the day in Arashiyama but at night it empties out and is more peaceful.
The onsen was very clean and a pleasant environment but only one of the pools was open for use when I visited and it was indoors only.

I wishes that I booked more than one night. This was my favorite stay in Kyoto! I recommend booking breakfast and diner!

Although the food was a little expensive, it was excellent and far beyond our expectations. The staff were all kind, polite, and helpful. Each time we returned to the hotel, they welcomed us with warmth and care. It truly felt like coming home to family. I really loved that feeling, especially while traveling in a foreign country. It made us feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. We had a wonderful stay here!
