Beautiful venue, lovely staff, simplicity done well

There really is nothing.

The surroundings are beautiful and gave us opportunites to walk around outside and enjoy the amazing grounds and views.

I felt that at the breakfast area - which was busy - the room was understaffed and used dishes were left at the tables. The staff appeared overworked and stressed. The coffee machine was insufficient to cope with the numbers.

We stayed in an ocean view room. Indeed the view from the room over the greens and down to the ocean was excellent, and being westerly facing it received the last of the light.

Room service was not possible for the ocean view rooms. The beds were hard, the couch very bad for ones back and the furnishings generally very dated. My 15 year old daughter commented that aside from the view it reminded her of the room where her Grandmother lived which was in a nursing home. We returned at 3:30pm the first day and found the room still not cleaned. On phoning reception I was advised that cleaning could be as late as 5pm and that vacating rooms had priority (our room wasn't ready when we checked in until close to 3pm). Moreover throughout the day the passageway was cluttered with linen and cleaning equipment and rubbish which was appalling (see the photo). Frustratingly there is no EV charging at the ocean view rooms, one has to drive to the main building, for this and for access to all the facilities. Finally, on checking in we received no information about available facilities (restaurants, pool, gym, tennis etc), I felt like a second rate guest.
