Kempinski Hotel Chongqing

Everything. From check in to departure it was fabulous and at a surprisingly cheap price. The room was impeccable with all desired amenities. The breakfast in the ADD restaurant had everything from juices, fruit, cereal, a large selection of sweet and savoury pastry and breads, cold cuts, salads, eggs made to order, sausages, bacon, grilled mushrooms, dumplings and of course a huge range of Chinese items with a selection of tea and coffee. The only tiny negative for me was that the croissants are not crisp!

The pool area has no ambiance at all. Purely functional it looks like a school or club pool. Being on a floor above ground level creates limitations but the design and decor could easily have incorporated some lovely aesthetics common to most top Asian hotel pools.

I liked the very high quality self service laundry room, but I was trying to find out online about it before my stay and I could not find this information, it would be useful to post about it, so actually this was a pleasant surprise

- the hotel and rooms are nice, and have a potential to be a luxury hotel, but that needs a different management - dirt and mess at many places and in front of the hotel - the breakfast is quite poor, the mushrooms and tofu from the hot buffet were cold and dry already at 6:40 in the morning and the cook from the soup area was not available, in general not enough variety or quality - manager should oversee the breakfast room a bit more - the pool/spa area is extremely outdated and "worn out", definitely should not be a part of a luxury brand hotel

Very nice staff, they provide me a bday cake.

A quite older equpiment, also bathroom need renovation soon.
