We’ve been lots before so know what to expect

Because of the historic building (1907) and size of hotel it’s an impressive and chiq place to stay. The ballroom breakfast and dinner is attractive.

Breakfast was good. Meals in other restaurants was limited with only a few choices. Could do with some dishes of the day. They were well cooked however - had a nice hotpot. Ok for families it you like pizza and burgers. Weekends are very busy in the leisure pool. Grounds are nice with good views of the hills.

More of a family hotel. Big hotels tend to be a bit anonymous but had some conversations with people. The main complaint is the financial aspects. You have to give your card details for a pre-authorisation amount of £50 which they take off straight away. This is not refunded straight away when you leave and I was told this will just go back onto my account and can take 7 days or more. I haven't received it yet and I didn't realise when I arrived so it put my account into the red. I don't think they should debit your account unless there is reason to i.e damage for example. This has ruined my stay because the member of staff at reception was not very reassuring.
