Everything great experience and fabulous location

I've been twice before, so I knew what to expect. The food is always lovely and the staff helpful.
The location of the KC rooms. It was quite old and dated. The loo got clogged late at night, unfortunately. We did not have hot water. The tour guide was more keen to get out and back... and cut our drive short. We tried changing drivers the morning, but was told we couldn't. How sad.

The game drive and view
Ths fact that the food is all halal, but the majority of guests are not. The food is absolutely dreadful! There is no value for money. The staff are everywhere always moving things around ans cleaning up around you - you are incessantly rushed to eat. The staff are kind and courteous, but very poorly trained. Food keeps running out and an hour before breakfast closes, you're simply told foods are finished. The rooms smell terribly of mould. Dreadful dreadful dreadful!!!

Wonderfull facilities. Enough space. Spa is very nice and very well maintained.
Not always as clean as one would like.Vehicles for game drive a bit run down.

Aquila is amazing and so close to Cape Town, also very near to the wine country. Very pretty scenery, not hard to find. You see lots of animals in your 2 game drives. The spa is great and the spa pool area is smaller and quiet compared to the large one. Upon arrival, they give you a welcome drink and invite you to enjoy lunch while you wait for your room to be ready. Meals are buffet style but the dining room is nice. The bar is upstairs and not included. Then you move in, a helpful guy brings all your bags to the room and gives you a place to park. The staff takes care of you. For instance, the same man moved us in and out of our room even though there were many people doing his job, the same driver was our guide for the evening and morning safari even though there were 4-5 busses and guides. The room has things like bug spray and a wall unit AC. Our AC leaked but it wasn't a problem bc it was in the bathroom and the floors are LVP. There's time to chill or go to the spa or pool. Then you are taken on safari and it's a large 20 seater bus. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. The park is 10,000 hectares and they make a considerable effort to protect from poaching, but unfortunately that means they cut the rhino's horns down to deter poachers. The lions are in a separate fenced off area, farther in to the reserve. This is because they offer horseback safari and 4 wheeler safari. We saw lions, rhinos, cape buffalos, hippos, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and a springbok. The place is very picturesque and you end up with incredible photos. While hanging out in your room or the pool or restaurant, you can see the elephants and giraffes as they wander around the reserve. The elephants are very friendly, and may approach the vehicle, even putting their trunk in. After the morning safari on day 2, they offer you breakfast, then there was just enough time for a traditional African wood massage and then it was time to go.
It was a hot sunny day and I was dying to lie by the pool, but the main pool was very crowded and a lot of people were kind of loud, shouting and cheering on their kids who were playing in the pool. All the pool loungers were taken and most of the lawn was covered with people lying on towels. It didn't look pleasant so I didn't go and I was not aware of the second pool, so I didn't go there either. It would have been helpful if they explained more at check in such as: where the meeting point was for the safaris, that there was a smaller more quiet pool in the spa area that you could go to if you paid a little fee, that one of the welcome drinks was non-alcoholic, etc. Our guide was excellent, super knowledgeable and very friendly. But I felt bad for the lions. They were sleeping when we drove up. We were extremely close, our truck was maybe 6 feet from them. He kept revving the engine of the truck, banging on the roll bars, and waking them up. You only get one room key and the room's balcony is covered in bat poop. If you have hte time and can get to a larger private reserve farther away from Cape Town, do it. If you don't this is a great option, especially for a large group.

Tour and tour guides were spot on,really enjoyable.
Great choice of food available for dinner and breakfast .
The small cottages could do with a revamp, looking a bit tired internally

Easy access from Cape Town for a quick safari.
Not really a safari. The animals are brought to the people. Average food. Pool was full of people.

Staff was very friendly. Food was good. Plenty to do. Wish we could have stayed another Nintendo.
Would have loved to see more animals.

Essen in Buffet-Form.

Accommodation on the top floor as we booked very early. Veranda with great views of the countryside and the waterholes. Lift. Room was very good and clean with WiFi and air conditioning.
Buffet food was fairly good and could have been better. The waitress Jacqueline was very helpful and went the extra mile in her job.
Game drives were very well led by Tiler although the game is sparse we saw lions, hippos, elephants, rhino, giraffe & zebras. He gave excellent commentary.
Busy hotel as day trippers also catered for but still a good experience. It is clearly not comparable with game parks further afield because of a lack of more natural wildlife accompanied by their predators and without feeding these animals would doubtlessly not survive.
Overall a most enjoyable couple of days and only 2-3 hours drive north of Cape Town.
Veranda had pigeon droppings on the floor.

No i często zanim ktokolwiek podszedł zapytać o napoje do posiłku, potrafiliśmy już zjeść.

We loved everything about this place! There was nothing we didn’t like .

Fantastic experience at a beautiful reserve. We stayed for two nights in a ground floor premier room with a small patio. Amazing outlook onto the reserve - when we woke on the first morning we saw elephants in the distance. On the second, we could see three giraffes. Lovely facilities, nice pool, very stylish spa. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony of the bar. Buffet selection for all meals was very good. We went on the morning and afternoon game drives and saw zebras, lions, ostriches, elephants, giraffes, antelope, rhinos, hippos and more. Very friendly guides. Overall great value for money.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like but there were some areas I felt could be improved further. The whole experience was very well organised, but subsequently felt a little bit like you were on a conveyor belt. Service was a little patchy. I felt there could’ve been more information about the reserve and what it does - there was a screen in reception that said that the reserve rescued and rehabilitated animals but nothing else, so most people would’ve missed it. It would’ve been interesting to learn more about this aspect and how the other animals were cared for day-to-day.

Food was ok. Most staff were courteous and helpful. Location was good although a distance from Cape Town. Game drives were excellent as the drivers made every effort to ensure you saw the big 5.
Poor WiFiI
Lack of communication about return transport.Where to meet etc
Lack of things to do when the weather is bad.

Beautiful scenery and great animals, and the general staff is amazing.
Favouritism of guests if guests are more social.
Some Staff in leadership positions seem to have a chip on their shoulder.

The meals were varied, and had alot of choice. The buffet was fresh and constantly topped up.The room was clean and comfortable.
The size of the park itself is small, however this also ensures that you will sight most of the wildlife.

We love how warm and pleasant are the staffs. Our room has a great view and clean. Their buffet has a great selections of food. We enjoy the game drive thanks to Dino with his informative tour.
Due to some unforeseen situation we got a problem with the water supply in the cottage. But the staff offer us alternatives.

Excellent choices. Greatful for Halaal option.Room was excellent and I loved the room in general.
No leopard on the reserve. Missed my afternoon drive due to accident on the N1. I did call the facility, but no one offered me another game drive.

Exceptional staff service at all levels, really good game drives (Veeno?).
All staff without exception great you and speak.
Food great quality and choice, fantastic location.
Yes we saw the big 5, up close, and more.
Stunning value for money package.
Standard room booked, no need for anything more as you are either out or it is dark. 1 X night sufficient unless you want spa and horse / quad bike experience which we did not
Highly recommended.

We found the staff mostly very pleasant to deal with and mostly very helpful. From the reception staff, to the table assistants during meal times, to the general staff. Found everyone upbeat, helpful and accommodating.
Game drive staff was very informed, shared a lot of info regarding the wild life on offer.
Room was very comfortable, room spacious and the bed excellent.
A negative experience was with the WiFi in cabin 20. It was patchy at best, with the signal strength looking good but download speed was atrocious.
Info sheet on arrival provides a WhatsApp number as contact if one requires a fire lit in the cabin. Sent a request to this effect after check in. Never received any response.
Cleaning services are included in the booking. On our first morning, we went for a game drive, had breakfast, got back to the room and ... no room service evident. Although it was quickly resolved, it should never have happened.

Nice place with great staff.
The place is fun for couple of days, after that you will get bored they really need to put TVs in the rooms at least.

The welcome drink and greeting was a lovely touch and made you feel very welcome on arrival. They made a great job of making you feel special.
The restaurant was excellent with lots of choice, for all meals lunch dinner breakfast. There was also an opportunity to get a coffee and Danish/muffin or rusk before going out on the early morning tour.
The tours were great, the leaders were so knowledgeable and we all learnt loads. The two tours were very different, and we enjoyed both. The first we saw all the animals roaming while in the morning we didn't. It demonstrated that the animals were free to roam wherever they wanted.
The accommodation was brill, lots of space and room for 5 adults.
Didn't have enough time to use the spa, would recommend at least a 2 night stay, we didn't know what to expect so only stayed 1 night. We were cautious as it was winter.
