Kings Park Motel

The rooms were tidy and clean and even though it was close to the road there it wasn't noisy. They had extra pillows in the cupboard if required and coffee and tea in the rooms. The bathroom was very nice and the water pressure was really good. It was a nice place for a overnight stay. It wasn't overcrowded with 3 beds in the room either, still had plenty of space to breathe

The reception did smelled like cigarette smoke, which was a little off putting but the rooms didn't smell anything but clean when we got in so not really an issue.

Breakfast was fine

The room decor is a bit dated but it’s very clean!

The staff were very friendly, check in was easy. Parking was always available on premised apart from one evening when it was full and I had to put the hire car on suburban street overnight. Not really a big deal I guess. The pillows and bed were comfy and overall the room was clean. The price I paid was fair and representative of the room and facilities. Travelling by myself prior to going overseas I didn’t want to spend a great deal and needed to have onsite parking to feel safe - so a Motel was a big tick. There was a small bar fridge with a freezer component that actually froze things. A ‘one person’ microwave was also a handy addition. Very centrally located to everything.

The picture displayed on booking.com wasn’t representative of the room I had. I thought the Motel would be more modern or renovated but in reality my room was very dated with original 70’s dark wood besides and fixed furniture - remember the old besides that came with a radio installed? Whilst clean it’s hard to mask that ‘dated’ smell that comes with old furniture, and when you first enter the room it can take a bit of getting used to that smell combined with cleaning agents. Sound proofing was very average and I could hear conversations, noises up until around 9pm when most people would go to sleep. They provide basic dishes, utensils and detergent but i had to clean up in your bathroom basin. I paid $200 a night which might be their cheapest rate and I should have expected that for the money.
