Ibis Lagos Ikeja

It was perfect.

Size of room was too small

A rather appropriate place to stay before taking flight... I stayed at the ibis Lagos Ikeja immediately before flying to Egypt for the summer, and it proved to be exactly what I needed: comfortable, welcoming and a wonderfully easy place to spend that final night in Lagos before heading to the airport. I knew what I was getting with a 'few frills' airport hotel, but this was great for what it was. The location meant I did not need to stress about catching my flight on time. There is a relaxed friendliness about the hotel that I really liked. The staff were warm and helpful, everything worked as it should, and the whole experience took away that little bit of stress that inevitably comes with preparing for an international flight the following day. And I rather like the coincidence of the name. The ibis is a bird with a particularly strong connection to ancient Egypt, so perhaps staying at an ibis before flying from Lagos to Egypt was more appropriate than I realised at the time! A comfortab le stay, a warm Lagos welcome and then, like the hotel's namesake, it was time for me to take flight. Egypt awaited.

It was perfectly functional.
