Himara Hostel

The garden, the vibe, the volunteers, the breakfast (included), everything!

In the big dorm, upper pods (3rd level) seem quite intimidating to climb to but as it was not full, no-one needed to use those. Showers are a bit run-down but functional.

Facilities were great and the rooms were comfortable. The common area was very relaxing and a good place to meet people

Only 1 toilet so there was usually a wait

- It a very social hostel, with lots of areas where people can eat, work, talk and mingle. I am a social person, so that worked well for me. - Varied demographics: people of different ages, backgrounds and ethnicities made the stay extra enjoyable. - A big, beautiful garden surrounding the property. - Very clean - Good kitchen facilities - Kind, friendly staff - Cute dogs 'guarding' the hostel

- Mainly, the beds. I found the mattresses very uncomfortable. The top bunks also had ZERO sidebar, or other protection in place, so it felt quite unsafe. - Noise. Overall, I struggled to get a good rest in this hostel. Noise insulation is minimal, and people banging doors when entering/exiting dormitories didn't help either. Neither did the fact that especially bathroom doors were very difficult to close quietly even with best efforts. - Lack of amenities in living quarters. No shower shelf, no hooks, very little space for personal belongings.

Very friendly place, personal was always helpful and at the place. We had a lot of fun together every night at the terrace. It was really nice stay and we created nice community there for a while :)
