Set back down a country road- the location is in the heart of the Highland hills! Just remote enough that you feel like you’re hidden away! Our room was huge- and the four post bed was comfortable and felt very regal! The other spaces were beautifully decorated! The dinner was exceptional! We walked around the property before dinner and views kept going- plus they had just released 3500 pheasants and other birds for hunting season- it was magical! We also enjoyed chatting with the groundskeeper and two charismatic children who belonged to the managers.
1. The staff was hired by a travel agency scout (as we were told by one of the staff). This perhaps impacted the service, in general. Some of the staff were not very attentive and proactive during dinner service, like they had not all been properly and cohesively trained as to how to conduct themselves. 2. Perhaps related, I was looking forward to taking a hot bath, but the bathtub was dirty- there was hair in the tub (ewww) and soap scum all around the inside. Very disappointing.

Dinner was on a small coffee table at reduced cost, full breakfast was poor
Unexpected deposit of 100 per person = 300. Make sure you have enough money in your account.
Booking in staff did not make us feel welcome.

"Dalmunzie Castle ist ein aussergewöhnlich schönes Hotel. Es gibt nichts schöneres als von hier aus die Gegend zu erkunden und dann den Abend vor dem Kaminfeuer ausklingen zu lassen."
