Mercure Iguazu Hotel Iru

Lovely property, great bar, very good breakfast. Totally comfortable and reasonable access to national parks and airport, although used taxis anytime I left the property as nothing is within walking distance.

The hotel design, the surrounding area of the hotel, swimming pool etc - felt like we are middle of tropics. We also absolutely loved the breakfast area, very well designed and pretty !! We could see monkeys outside the window while eating !! The bed was huge (I think King size), the TV size was perfect. Most staff was very accommodating and friendly.

The first room we were given had many hygiene issues. We were given a better room the next day. Many things like robes, iron and hairdryer were missing in both rooms but were given to us as soon as we requested them. There was a grumpy lady in restaurant who told my husband they don’t do omelets per request, even though they did do them the day before.. instead the lady could have told my husband the chefs are just busy that morning. There’s a better way to communicate. The pool water was very cold but once I got in I felt warmish. But definitely not pleasant to get in. The hotel recommended us taxi company to pick us up from the airport. The car smelt for cigarette smoke. We ended up using Ubers for the rest of our trip which ended up being half price comparing to the taxi service.

The rooms are a bit old and run down . It’s quite remote away from the city.
