O'Soleil Chalets Self Catering

Our stay at O'Soleil Chalets was much more than just accommodation, it was part of our La Digue experience. Frank and Helen were wonderful hosts, with a fascinating, Hollywood-like life story. Our chalet, with its high ceiling, fan and lovely veranda surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, had exactly the atmosphere we hoped to find on La Digue. Anse Severe is only about a three-minute walk away, and we also strongly recommend discovering Bikini Bottom nearby. La Digue itself is a phenomenal island. Our advice is simple: explore, explore and enjoy! Almost everything is within cycling distance, and riding your bike beneath tropical trees, with flying foxes above you and unique birds all around, is an experience in itself. And the little green geckos quickly became our favourite neighbours! Thank you, Frank for making our stay so memorable and finally, write that book about your life journey! We truly believe it could be a bestseller.

The location is very good, being a couple of minutes walk to the beach and close to the town. The hosts were very friendly, and gave us some helpful directions in exploring the island.

The thick plastic wine glasses were unappealing, and we would have appreciated a citronella candle or similar to allow us to use the outside balcony in the evenings. Furnishings overall were adequate but not special.
