Doobaki Hostel

Bus stops outside and wasy to navigate with Nav app. Tombs and other attractions all in walking distance. Quirky decor added personality. Many English speaking staff. Continental breakfast included is bonus.

I booked into all female dorm but on second morning a guy appeared from thr top bunk. Not good as ladies gear all over the place. I was the only one in room at time.

We have a free walking tour on the first night and it was so good! This was also great for meeting people. The hostel has a lot of social space and a free breakfast which was a bonus.

It wasn’t very clean and needed some TLC.

Spacious room, great location and nice common areas.

The room had carpet floors and didn’t feel very clean overall.

There are many bus lines that run right outside the hostel so that is convenient. It has been decorated to look fun.

Honestly, I feel like the reviews and rating this place has are quite disingenuous. Perhaps people who rated it highly have never stayed in quality hostels before, or in Korean accomodation in general. The provided "towel" was just a small hand towel; they really shouldn't list it as a feature. There is no lift (fine) and no hand rails on the large concrete steps. The beds were very bouncy. There is no soundproofing whatsoever, and the curtains are the same material as bedsheets, and do nothing to block out any light. The decor is very worn and dated, and the toilet and vanity are extremely low, even by Korean standards. Breakfast was for sugar enthusiasts only - sweet bread and cereals, and giant tubs of iridescent jams. I was glad to leave there.
