Our apartment was spacious, with a lounge and kitchen area plus two balconies with views of the garden and the sea. The grounds and pool area are beautifully landscaped and the setting is nice, just out of town with the mountains as a backdrop. The beach and town are only 5-10 min walk away. The owner was really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here.
The kitchenette could have been a bit better equipped and the air-con was a bit temperamental. It was a bit alarming to see the large unconnected wires protruding from the walls in all the rooms - not sure why they are there! Some of the furnishings were a bit damaged and tired looking, even though the place is only 5 years old.

Secluded and quiet about 1km outside Paleochora. large rooms with kitchen. Good shower and reasonable sized pool with Children's area , although children need to be swimmers or supervised. Very friendly staff. Lovely gardens with seating and loungers around pool; set well back from main road, not busy, up long private drive with ample parking. Welcome bottle of wine and of water provided. Can access one end of Paleochora beach very close to hotel but 1km til you reach the best sand and serviced loungers.Easy to walk back at night from large range of restaurants and bars in town.
Showers need better screen or larger tray, but hot and good. Need to be aware that you need to provide your own breakfast and any other food: nearest supermarket in town.
Staircase steep and big step in floor in upstairs bedroom between bed and bathroom, not suitable for younger children or infirm!

We only stayed 1 night at this hotel but we had a lovely stay and regretted not being able to stay for longer. The owner was very welcoming. We were allowed to check in early. As it was the start of the season and there were available rooms, we were offered an additional room at no extra cost for our teenage kids. We were also offered to check out whenever we liked. The owner also welcomed us with wine and chocolates. We couldn’t have asked for more. It is in a lovely location. Only a short walk into the town. The pool and gardens were very clean and pretty. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Libyan Mare is extremely peaceful and private, set back from the sea road with a mountain right behind so it is very protected from wind. The gardens are beautiful and every lovingly maintained as are the villas kept sparkling clean and are very comfortable. The front verandahs from the living and bedrooms both look out over the sea and gardens, and provide both a sunny spot if you want one or shade if the want it - well designed. Our lovely warm hostess Chrisa was extremely kind and solicitous of our comfort and helped us with everything we needed. Great internet. Highly recommended!

This was a wonderful, airy, serene and comfortable small resort on the edge of Paleochora. The property and the pool were beautiful and pristine and felt quintessentially Greek. The beach was just down a short lane and the town an easy walk, either along the beach or by the road. Our hostess was very gracious and so helpful. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay here on the south of Crete.

We arrived very early, around 11, expecting to leave the suitcases and come back but they let us into the apartment, which was a lovely surprise. Great start to our stay there. It's a little out from the town center, about 1k, but an easy walk, with a safe sidewalk almost the whole way. In the heat it did seem long sometimes.. Plenty of good restaurants and cafes, and our host steered us to her favourites which were great. The beach in front of the property is fabulous, great swimming and nice and sandy. Also several fab beaches (Grammeno, Gialiskari, Krios) within easy driving or boat taxi in the area. We opted to take a boat trip to Elafonisi but it's also drivable, about an hour. Get there early and leave at lunch, even in late May it was packed. But worth the trip. Loved staying here and felt truly welcomed.

There is no Kitchen or Bar anywhere , so even for morning coffee , need to take your car.

Kindest and very helpful owner, greeted us with a wide smile. A wonderful garden, and beautiful view, delicious coffee and a delightful snack. The apartment is nicely furnished and very tidy.

The location, the welcome, the view, the balcony terrace, the fabulous garden and pool. Perfect spot to relax and visit some places.
The living room downstairs could have been conceived with more natural light (That is subjective).
Kitchen was more basic vs others places we visited. Though nothing to prevent you from cooking everyday.

Quiet calm peaceful.
There's no provision for children so it's perfect for couples 10 minute walk to town taxis readily available for the €5 ride home. The owner couldn't be more helpful. 10/10.

The owners are very cordial and gave us the feeling of being good old fiends - they still have the authentic Cretan hospitality.

Wonderful location, property and pool area! Spacious accommodation, and very welcoming and helpful staff and the owners make every effort for a comfortable stay.. The apartment was cleaned every day and beds made, this is rare and very welcomed in self catering apartments.. Lovely sandy beach is only 5 mins walk, and the town 15 mins..
We had a late arrival, and the room was not set up to sleep 6.. however the staff made every effort to help once we entered the room..

The atmosphere is very peaceful, relaxing and warm. I liked the garden and the pool area. The host is very friendly and helpful. We appreciate this a lot. Everything, the beach and tavernas, are near. Really nice place!
Maybe a few more sunbeds are needed in the pool area.

We had a wonderful stay. The property has a very nice pool, the rooms are large and luxurious, very comfortable. very clean rooms, hostess was very accommodating. We arrived early and although the room wasn’t ready we were offered full use of pool and facilities.
