We loved the location and the accommodation was good. Breakfast was very good served efficiently and quickly. My husband enjoyed his perfectly cooked steak and we ordered a portion of lovely chips to share.
I wasn't very impressed with the evening meal I had. The tiny bits of venison were a bit of a shock considering it was probably very locally sourced and the rest of the meal seemed a small portion too. I'm glad we ordered the chips and I ate most of the but I actually went to bed hungry.

The hotel is beautifully located and easy walk from Chatsworth House and surrounded by splendid countryside. The staff are excellent - friendly and efficient. Dinner is great - very interesting dishes, served with flair, breakfast superb. The village is lovely and attracts a friendly crowd for drinks at the Inn.

Picturesque
Extractor fan bathroom did not work. Staff member came but simply said they did not what was wrong with it. No action taken. Poor all in packets continental breakfast. Too much trouble to make simple porridge when asked. Cooked bacon and eggs did not taste fresh. Toast equaled 1 slice each. Not asked if happy with the breakfast. Cheaper and better prepared elsewhere.
