The family that own and run this accommodation were very friendly and helpful, there was always someone around to come and help any time of day. Special shout-out to who we assumed was the grandpa of the family who was very sweet and we nicknamed ‘smiley grandad’ as we was so friendly.
The location of the property in-front of lazy left and right was perfect for surfing and easily checking conditions through the day.
We loved it!
This is no fault of the property owners, at all as we really enjoyed our stay and for the most part it was very quiet and easy to sleep. The only thing we would warn about is that there is a party that goes on next door on a Tuesday until 6am, which is great if you want to party, but otherwise would recommend bringing some ear plugs!

The family are friendly, though there's not that much interaction unless you need something, and can be hard to find. But not a criticism, more an observation.

perfect location right in front lazy left and lazy right, about 700 meters from main restaurants. super friendly staff will help you with anything, we stayed there for about three weeks and had a very good time🤙

The location is perfect, espacially if you're here to surf, you can check the swell from the guesthouse.

My initial 1 week stay at Hot Tuna turned into nearly 3 weeks! The family were so helpful and accommodating. Location is directly across from Lazy left and right surf spot with so much only walking distance or a short tuktuk ride away. They also helped me organise an airport transfer and there was no issue that I arrived at the property at 2am. The breakfast and food they offer is great and the sea view area is a wonderful spot to relax and read a book.
Everything was great! If you are sensitive to noise, the trains can be quite loud, but this never bothered me.

amazing place for surfers. near lazy right and lazy left and other spots 10 minutes walk. friendly staff. you should know that there is a railway nearby, noise comes from it. if this is a problem for you, then take ear plugs or surf more to sleep soundly :)
the railroad runs through the entire coast. so anywhere you hear the train. take it as part of amazing sri lanka

The room is nice and has everything you need. The location is perfect if you are looking for a place near the beaches and the surf spots. The family running the place is amazing and there are several common areas to chill.
The railway is just behind the building and when the trains pass by are quite loud and can be annoying, especially in the early morning.
The main road on the other side is also quite busy and when there are parties at the near hostel Lazy the music is very loud.

Midigama and this place have been our favorite part of Sri Lanka so far. This place is beachfront which is amazing and near really good restaurants.
The rooms are good and they have breakfast that you can eat on your patio.
Our neighbours were lovely, we met lots of nice people. Really good vibes!!
The fan rooms don’t have hot water and it is filtered sea water. After a day at the beach it’s unfortunate that you cannot get rid of the salt on you.

Amazing location opposite lazy lefts, close to all the beaches, rooms are big, comfy and the balcony is amazing! staff are so helpful and friendly and the breakfasts are great!

Perfect location if you want to surf the Lazy Left or the other surf spots around. Can’t get much closer! Surf spot is on the other side of the street. Board rentals are in walking distance.

What holds true for many, many hotels along the South Coast and also for this place: the main street and the railway (both built directly along the coast) are close, so you will hear some traffic noise and the train passing by.

Super friendly family taking care of you!
Clean rooms, terrace and garden. Have a small menu to order breakfast, lunch and dinner if you don't want to go out. Perfect location for surfers by the beach of Lazy right and left.

the location is absolutely amazing. the hot tuna crew is just the sweetest. they helped us with everything we needed. wonderful breakfast with view on lazy left. rooms are very clean and comfortable with a table and chairs to sit outside. there is a surfboard room. my favorite place in midigama.
