Palacio de Arce

Our second stay at this lovely hotel. Great parking facility and secure. Excellent reception staff. Room was great, spacious, clean and comfortable. Nice terrace area. Restaurant is fantastic. Excellent staff member who explained the menu Good food, excellent presentation. Had to ask twice for dessert menu and the bill but apart from that can’t fault it. Staff member in the evening was attentive, asking if we needed anything to eat or drink (as restaurant was now closed) Breakfast was good. A nice walk into the village via footpaths. Two nice cafe/bakeries in the village. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

Period property with nice architectural features Quiet location

Nothing

The beds were extremely comfortable.

The breakfast was very basic and not what you would expect from a hotel. The rooms were spartan. For such an old palace, some soft furnishings would help to decorate the place.

The property was located away from the highway and in a safe neighborhood. Parking was located conveniently. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

The one major issue was the flies in the inside dining area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had to continually swat flies away from us and our meals. The breakfast buffet was sub-par in contrast with other comparable hotels. Meats and cheeses were laid out at room temperature without any refrigeration or covers (flies had free access to all the food as mentioned above). Fresh fruit not provided every day. The lunch and dinner menu is 95% seafood based (not an issue for seafood enthusiasts, but challenging for those with shellfish allergies or other personal preferences; want travelers to be aware).
