The Stag at Stow

The location was very central. We enjoyed our meals and it had a great wine list.

The room was a bit too small although the bed was comfortable and the ensuite had everything you needed.

Great location, breakfast was great, the produce used was top notch, character full building, staff were friendly & helpful especially with directions to the car parks at the rear.

Check in was at three o’clock, I went into stag at two thirty to enquire about checking in and was told to return at three, most other places we have stayed if the room was ready, and half hour before check in time it would have been, I would expect to be checked in. Could have been a bit more helpful there I feel. We stayed in a room at the very front of the property overlooking the high street, room was compact but no real issues. Beans were served almost cold at breakfast, shame as the rest of the breakfast was outstanding.

Welcoming staff and nice bar area

Room was nice but had a few issues such as the bed moving on the wheels and it was very loud every time one of us moved leaving us uncomfortable and slightly tired the next mornings. Unfortunately just didn’t feel I was getting much for the money I paid.

Good location, lovely old building.

Staff were not very friendly, room was cold with no heating, window didn’t close so rattled. Bed against the wall so a bit squashed.
