Mr. Tucan Hotel

Mr. Tucan is in such an incredible location — right in the heart of West End and just steps from the water. Everything you could want is within walking distance: the beach, diving, restaurants, little shops, and all the energy that makes West End so special. After long days in the ocean, it was amazing to be able to walk back, shower, relax, and feel completely at home. The rooms and apartments are clean, comfortable, colorful, and thoughtfully set up, and the attention to detail really makes a difference. But what truly stood out to me was the people. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. You don't feel like just another guest — they genuinely make an effort to make you feel at home. And the breakfast and coffee at Bean Crazy were such a wonderful bonus. Starting the morning with a great breakfast and coffee before heading out for another day of diving and exploring became one of my favorite parts of the stay.

Room was clean, beds were comfy.

This would be a nice place except that when we checked in we discovered that the water wasnt working. After speaking to another guest, we found out that it had been out for 2 days and yet no one mentioned it at check in. We had to discover it for ourselves when we tried to shower. When we went down to ask we were told that it was a city wide outage, just to find out that wasn't true, it was only our hotel. We really felt like they were being dishonest. It wasn't that big of a deal that the water was out, but that they didn't tell us or try to remedy the issue in any way (not even buckets of water to flush toilets!) Other than the water issue it's a nice place. Ask for one of the back rooms if you are a light sleeper as some of the rooms are right on the main road so might be problematic for light sleepers. This is not where we normally stay, but our flight was canceled and had to scramble to find a place. Can't say I'd stay here again.
