Beautiful island. Great facilities. We stayed in beach villa with pool with sunset view. Highly recommended. F&B staff was extremely helpful accommodating with meals on request for young kids and infant. We really appreciated the help with this. In general all staff was very friendly and willing to help. We were treated like royals throughout the stay.

Food in the buffet restaurant was not good, it was lacking variety and it simply wasn’t tasty. Not enough healthy options for both adults and kids, and repetitiveness of dishes almost everyday. Having said this, F&B staff was very helpful and accommodating with on request meals for kids. Which considerably improved our stay as we were travelling with two very young children. This is highly appreciated. But in general the buffet, for this level of hotel, should be improved. Another thing that the hotel could improve is communication among the staff. Often, the team wasn’t updated or aware of the situation and we had to explain numerous times something that should have been logged in the system. In particular communication around transfers. Transfer timings are poor resulting with unacceptably long connections at Male airport.

Food

The resort offers a good variety of facilities, and we really enjoyed the overall atmosphere and weather during our stay. The beach villa was one of the highlights — comfortable, spacious, and offered a lovely tropical experience close to the beach.

The overall experience was good, but there were several areas that could be improved. The seaplane transfer is quite long and tiring, and the fixed flight timings offer very little flexibility based on guests’ preferred schedules. The food was quite repetitive and average in terms of quality and variety. The bath towels were noticeably old and worn out and should definitely be replaced. Although the beaches are beautiful, some areas have many rocks, which can make swimming and walking along the shoreline less comfortable. The children’s facilities were fairly basic and could benefit from better maintenance. In particular, the outdoor splash/water play area showed significant wear and was not consistently operational. During our four-night stay, it was only available twice and for approximately two hours each time. Overall, Kandima is a good resort with a wide range of facilities, but in my opinion, the experience was not particularly distinctive compared with what I would expect from a Maldives resort in this category.
