Most clean hotel so far in Sri Lanka. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Garden is beautiful. Room with many windows and a balcony.

Bijzondere plek. Wel heel lekker ontspannen en bijgekomen. Super bed. En lekker bad.

Accommodatie is iets verouderd, maar dit is niet storend.

Het is echt een oud Engels hotel, met heerlijk onbijt, goede bedden, fijn bubbelbad en aardig personeel!

Het restaurant is een beetje donker, maar dat krijg je met zo’n oud hotel

Hier gillt noch, dass der Kunde König ist, denn genau so wurden wir während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes behandelt. Hierbei schaffte das Personal auch den schwierigen Spagat dahin, dass es nicht aufgesetzt, aufdringlich oder unangenehm wirkte. Auch die Ausstattung des Hotels würden wir als kolonial-royal bezeichnen. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und die Badezimmer mit Dusche UND Whirpool ausgestattet, draußen auf dem Terrasse gibt es Hängesessel. Es gibt verschiedene Frühstücksvarianten und trotzdem wird noch auf individuelle oder spontane Wünsche eingegangen. Der Koch kam (und es handelte sich einfach nur um das Frühstück) aus der Küche um sich selbst zu erkundigen ob es geschmeckt hat. Kleine Vorwarnung: Da das. Hotel komplett mit einem Teppich ausgelegt ist, tauscht man schon an der Rezeption seine Schuhe gegen Slipper ein.

Das Hotel ist nicht mehr ganz neu. Es ist zwar nichts vernachlässigt worden, aber man merkt es ein wenig. Der Spiegel im Bad ging nicht oder wir waren mit den vielen Schalten einfach überfordert. Da viel mit dunklem Holz gearbeitet wurde, muss das Bad bei Benutzung (ans Licht gekoppelt) mit einem etwas lautem Lüfter zwangsentlüftet werden.

Very attentive, professional and friendly staff in a very comfortable old british Bungalow that only has four rooms. The amazing breakfast can be custom ordered the evening before and can be had in the very well tended-for garden or in the indoors dining room. At least three waiters, two cooks, one gardener and one manager make for perfect Service in quality and speed. We loved our room with jacuzzi and garden terrace as well as the very quiet location close to Victoria park. When we go bsck to Nuwara eliya we will stay in "La Grande Villa" again.

At first we did miss a mosquito net but in fact the electric vaporizer worked perfectly. We were happy with everything

This hotel is a gem--situated in a beautiful area within walking distance to Victoria Lake . Amazing historic charm but comfy bed and spa bathtub. The staff brought me tea in the afternoon and I was able to ride at the turf club nearby. Amazing experience.

Very typical and nice decoration. The food was delicious, and the staff was very kind. They even gave us a picnic bag for our long next ride.

Beautiful Villa just 15 minutes walking to the center. The owner welcomed us and all the facilities were very nice and clean.

The room was spotless, one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have seen. The bathroom and the outdoor patio were spectacular too. Overall, really enjoyed the quiet and calm. The bed was very comfortable.

The staff are amazing, the vibes are like you in home . The chef, the house manager Mr. Ansar and the cleaners and helpers all super good.

To be honest nothing. Especially for those who are not looking for a big hotel lobby.

Hotel staff is super friendly, they packed my breakfast cause I had to leave early in the morning. The garden is very sweet like the pictures, but much smaller. Room is spacious. Tuktuk driver who took me to Horton Plains is highly recommended. Special thanks to Ranjith (you can ask the hotel owner to book him)

The location is a bit away from the main road. Cover a a bit dirty. You have to remove shoes every time entering the property, but they don’t give you new slippers. In the evenings there’s loud music and I called reception but nobody answered. My comments is genuine but not sure why it got deleted? If it’s keep happening means it is misleading other guest.

Spacious and very comfortable bed with luxurious feel sheets.

The food was mediocore. For the same amount I am paying, i get more luxurious services in the heart of Colombo. Didn't feel secure as the door is locked by key with no internal latch. A person with a spare key can easily access it.

It’s a beautiful villa surrounded by a nice garden, and the hot tub in the room was definitely a plus.

The staff were so kind, welcoming and helpful. The food was great - the breakfasts are very large and tasty. They went out of their way to assist us when we had queries about the train tickets we purchased etc. They organised a tuk driver to take us to nearby tea plantations and waterfalls etc and he ensured we had a great time. In short, we felt very much at ease and comfortable here. Would definitely come through again!:)

There were some small things in the room that were maybe a bit old or needed some maint (e.g. the bed frame was slightly broken at rhe top and held together with a small piece of wood , the spa bath has some stains etc ). None of these things prevented us from being comfortable though.

Loved my stay here! The location was super quiet - perfect for a restful getaway. The staff? Absolutely the best! The garden was stunning and the rooms, tastefully decorated. Plus, the jacuzzi was the cherry on top. Totally recommend it!

The neighboring guests were a bit too nosy for my liking, which did impact the overall peaceful ambiance I was hoping for. The breakfast area was eerily quiet - some light background music would have been a nice touch. Speaking of breakfast, it was rather expensive, and surprisingly, the menu lacked a proper understanding of vegan dietary requirements. This is definitely an area they could improve on to cater to a wider range of guests. Still, the amazing staff, garden, and rooms somewhat compensated for these issues.
