It is easy to find in a convenient location on a crossroads. There is space to park conveniently. The team was very friendly and made us feel welcome upon our arrival. Even though the restaurant was busy they made sure that there was a table for us to eat. There are several rooms on the property. The family room is comfortable, and the size is great with plenty of space for kids and bags. The beds were comfortable. The windows can open in the room, and the temperature is good for sleeping. The bathroom and shower were a good size. There is a hairdryer available. There is plenty of storage in the wardrobes. There is also a table and some large chairs, a desk and tea/coffee-making facilities. The towels were good and an extra selection of hand towels in a family room is appreciated. The restaurant is excellent, with a wide selection of options well priced. The food was very good, with a suitable selection available for children. I believe the price for a room is good value for money (I would happily pay an extra couple of Euros to have a squeezy bottle of body wash on the wall in the shower like at some hotels). I enjoyed it more than staying at some "chain hotels". I would definitely stay here again when in the area.

The rooms are situated above a pub/bar. There was a wedding reception on the night of my stay, which finished about 2 in the morning. If you are a light sleeper, it might be difficult for you as you could hear the music in the room - however, see my overall score, I enjoyed my stay and the noise was not intrusive enough to be unpleasant. The shower has a small electric water heater. In a family room, with three people taking a quick shower; it lasts about 1.5 people before there is no more hot water, and you have to wait for it to warm up again. The shower has no amenities, so bring your own soap and shampoo.

The Room is Big, much bigger than the standards , Beds are comfortable, Bathroom and Shower were amazing. WIFI is super. Its more like family business, they gave you the room & the property keys incase you came late at night after reception time...There is Restaurant downstairs & the Rooms are in the upper floors, my room has a nice view on the backyard which was a nice garden & a forest. I liked the experience and will definitely repeat it whenever I visit Essen.
